Whims @whims.bsky.social · 03/10/2026Eh, screw consistency. Went for the slip edition. Maybe one day they’ll offer the He Who Gets Slapped slip separately… 000
Whims @whims.bsky.social · 02/10/2026I jumped head first into silent film at the right time methinks... I sort want the slip edition but I have the non-slip edition of He Who Gets Slapped and I’m about consistency. Will the reversible cover be the same as the slip? 000
Whims @whims.bsky.social · 01/10/2026@yiggybean.com whats the deal with Killing Show volume 3, 4 and 5 from Via Lactea? I’ve had them on preorder for almost a year. Are they still happening or what’s going on with VL? 000
Whims @whims.bsky.social · 29/09/2026growing up we’d had slugs around here a lot and I’d just watch them if I needed a breather, it was really relaxing and calm. Little fellas kept me sane during the daily stress of middle and high school. 100
Whims @whims.bsky.social · 29/09/2026I preordered this so fast! I am so excited for this one. I don’t know if I can go to bed from the hype now, haha. 030
Whims @whims.bsky.social · 14/09/2026There doesn’t seem to be any pattern or rhyme and reason to what does and doesn’t work. It’s just trial and error. Stark reminder that I still need to get a reliable backup 4K player if something ever goes awry with my Panny 820… 000
Whims @whims.bsky.social · 14/09/2026Someone’s been testing all their discs in their collection this weekend and it’s come to a concerning percentage (about 10%, or roughly 400~ discs, in his collection) but it’s still very concerning. He has several backup players of course. 110
Whims @whims.bsky.social · 14/09/2026Um, about that… some boutique blu-ray labels and collectors are reporting, with a recent firmware update, that some of their blu-rays won’t play in a PS5. They have gone to Sony about the issue and have received the silent treatment… forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.p...forum.blu-ray.comThe Official Indicator (Powerhouse Films) Thread - Page 1852 - Blu-ray ForumThe Official Indicator (Powerhouse Films) Thread United Kingdom and Ireland 110
Whims @whims.bsky.social · 11/09/2026Koei Tecmo is trash and Nintendo should have had greater influence in the development like they did for the sequel but alas, legal stuff being as it is. And Pokopia is still getting updates so it wouldn’t even be complete on cart which would be another significant ding against it. 000
Whims @whims.bsky.social · 11/09/2026It’s been a very hot topic in one of the Discords I’m in when someone brought that up. As for why Age of Imprisonment got a real cart, guess they didn’t foresee the first doing well to warrant a sequel so Nintendo kept it at arms length in case it failed miserably and could distance themselves. 001
Whims @whims.bsky.social · 11/09/2026It’s developed by Koei Tecmo, who utilizes GKC for all their Switch 2 games. Like Pokemon Pokopia. No Nintendo-developed games have been on GKC yet. 200
Whims @whims.bsky.social · 10/09/2026Worked for me! I hope they honor it. I wasn’t planning to get the game but this was the push I needed. 001
Whims @whims.bsky.social · 10/09/2026I still want to play it and I probably will depending when it comes out. 000
Whims @whims.bsky.social · 10/09/2026I wish the Direct did more for me on first party games. Definitely grabbing RE 2-4 remakes when they do a collection like they did 7-9. P4 and P6 are definite. Still hyped for FF7 Revelation. Might get Stellar Blade. I have interest in Metroid Ravenous but I am hoping Dread will get a NSW2 edition. 010
Whims @whims.bsky.social · 10/09/2026Decapolice looking all kinds of fun. Definitely want to check that one out. 000
Whims @whims.bsky.social · 10/09/2026My active Nintendo Switch 2 physical pre-orders for the rest of the year… Fire Emblem Fortune’s Weave Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Lies of P Complete Edition Metaphor Refantazio (steelbook edition) Xenoblade Chronicles 3 I’m pondering a few other titles to add but not committed to them just yet. 000
Whims @whims.bsky.social · 09/09/2026I really love the shade they are throwing with “includes 32gb game card” — absolute 👑 level move right there. I respect it. 000
Whims @whims.bsky.social · 05/09/2026Guess I’m gonna need to prioritize watching this @flicker-alley.bsky.social MOD Blu-ray for J’Accuse (1919) because I don’t think I’ve ever gotten a disc that was this badly scratched all to kingdom come. Like legitimately this looks horrendous. As long as it plays fine… I guess. 100
Whims @whims.bsky.social · 01/09/2026been weening myself off social media again to mixed success. 000
Whims @whims.bsky.social · 29/08/2026I feel like I see just way too many of these on that site... I think I’ve come across at least two dozen of these in the last week. 010
Whims @whims.bsky.social · 27/08/2026I like glancing at my ClearSky stats on occasion. Apparently I picked up 5 new blocks in the last month or so. I thought I was a pretty chill dude, it kinda hurts my feelings a bit. They didn’t even tell me why or explain themselves. I like to know those sorts of things bc they can help one grow. 000
Whims @whims.bsky.social · 10/08/2026I don‘t resort to piracy either. If it’s something I want to see, I will wait for an on sale, extremely affordable UK release or simply use one of the 5 (or more, rollover dependent) allocated slots. Or with luck, it’ll show up on Netflix. if it doesn’t, then I don’t need to experience or watch it. 000
Whims @whims.bsky.social · 10/08/2026I’ve taken it several steps further. Actions speak louder than words ever will. I don’t subscribe to/use Crunchyroll, I “hard limit“ Crunchyroll US (no more than 5 releases a yr, bar rollover) product. I don’t use the CR store. It’s been a surprisingly easy process and I’m pleased to keep it going. 100
Whims @whims.bsky.social · 09/08/2026I think I’ve only logged like 30 hours and I’m up to level 18 already. Barely scratched the surface. Enjoying the exploration aspect more than anything. 000
Whims @whims.bsky.social · 09/08/2026People should really learn how to go region free. Players are so cheap now. They’ll save so much money. I think I usually pay like $25-30 for a Crunchyroll blu-ray instead of the $40+ they charge for in the US and they’re sometimes the same Region A/B discs. Just have the pesky BBFC rating label. 100
Whims @whims.bsky.social · 05/08/2026I feel both aimless in a goal and overwhelmed by what I need to do/learn which is one extreme to the other. I don’t know how much staying power the game has for me right now, I’ll be perfectly frank here. I want to like and play FFXIV but time will only tell. 000
Whims @whims.bsky.social · 05/08/2026early impressions after 4 hours — really like the feel of things and I don’t mind having a lot to do but I feel aimless and having to remember all these buttons to do various things is incredibly daunting and exhausting. I imagine it would be a lot easier to manage with a keyboard or gaming mouse. 000
Whims @whims.bsky.social · 05/08/2026About to jump into the free trial for FFXIV on the Switch 2 and I’m lowkey terrified because everyone tells me how dangerously addicting it is and how it’s going to be my entire life for the foreseeable future. 010
Whims @whims.bsky.social · 02/08/2026My @discotekmedia.bsky.social Otakon breakdown — Ordered — Digimon Frontier, The Big O I/II & Kamen Rider Super-1 Yes — Infinite Ryvius, Argento Soma, Lupin the IIIrd: Zenigata and the Two Lupins, Digimon the Movie Collection 3 Maybe — Penguindrum, Memories 4K, Samurai Pizza Cats, Toradora 000
Whims @whims.bsky.social · 01/08/2026gon be watching a lot of anime this month it’s indubitably that time 000
Whims @whims.bsky.social · 01/08/2026I don’t think I can express how excited I am that @animeigo.com is releasing Welcome to Irabu’s Office next year. That show is a stunning and brilliant masterpiece. I feel like I’ve waited 20 years for it to get released here. Wait a second… 000
Whims @whims.bsky.social · 01/08/2026I hope @discotekmedia.bsky.social is gentle with my wallet tomorrow… 000
Whims @whims.bsky.social · 30/07/2026Everyone already has a permission structure around slop generators. Doesn’t Bsky effectively utilize the slop generators for vibe coding? And yet here we all are. But I guess it’s acceptable in this case since it’s probably not very much. 100
Whims @whims.bsky.social · 30/07/2026Decided it was just easier to clean up data from games I have not yet even played and can just reinstall them when I get around to them. Freed up a lot of internal memory. Managed to put this off for a little bit longer thankfully or perhaps to my detriment if the storage cost continues to increase. 000
Whims @whims.bsky.social · 30/07/2026trying to decide if I want to do a dedicated 256gb memory card for FFXIV or buy another 512gb since it’s just a little more and provides a cushion. 010
Whims @whims.bsky.social · 26/07/2026can’t wait to play Xenoblade Chronicles on the Switch 2 edition cartridge in a week. I’m very excited. Never played a single one. I just know it has really cute guys uwu. 010
Whims @whims.bsky.social · 26/07/2026“wrap your arms around the cringe and you will become unstoppable“ is something a good friend told me once. I take time to remember it in times like these when I feel myself falter. 010
Whims @whims.bsky.social · 25/07/2026Unfortunately many do and those folks seem to have an agenda they want to shove down people’s throats and that Kotaku article allows them to do just that. I do hate how the communities I’ve encountered are very … leaning in a certain direction rather than just letting people enjoy what they want. 010
Whims @whims.bsky.social · 25/07/2026got dragged for wanting to buy this (elsewhere) but if you want to make a definitive statement about protecting and cherishing physical media, then this is probably a defining moment of sorts. If it does well, and it seems to be, it bodes well for the future. Doing my part and sending a message. 000
Whims @whims.bsky.social · 25/07/2026anime fandom once again proving why I don’t want to be a part of it. let people watch what they want to watch. people need to seriously stop being so puritanical about anime (and media in general). you have no idea how being that way causes more harm than good and you wonder why people “turn right”. 110
