A reporter asked me about queer comics history and I got to say my favorite fact: Tom of Finland was doing a brisk business making gay comics in the 1940s at the same time Superman, Batman and Captain America were at their peak.

Quote how you paint dark skin!

Commissioned illustration portrait of a character from a D&D campaign. She's a doctor from a dark fantasy setting, the white mark on her forehead is a third eye, bestowed on her by a curse. Her expression is serious yet caring, a little fearful.

Illustration of an OC that won my art raffle, Cy. The character has dark skin and dark hair and overall looks elegant and well posed. He has steampunk goggles, and a big mole on his cheek. He has big green eyes corned by long eyelashes and his rosy cheeks are full of freckles. He's wearing a white blouse and he has golden jewellery.

portrait sketch Vgen commission of a character owned by client. Their skin is brown, covered in freckles on their cheeks, and they've got two long scars one on their eye and the other one on the mouth. They've got long, pointy elf ears, corned by long reddish brown hair which are wavy and have only one single braid. They've got hazel eyes that looks at the viewer with a gentle, kind but playful expression. They're well dressed in green, and eyebrow and the right ear are all pierced with silver jewelry, detailing an earring with a bright green gem in it. On his neck there's a glittering white tattoo hidden by his black collar.

commissioned portrait illustration of a character owned by client. He's name is Valeriu, he's a Fae influenced by nature. He looks androgynous, combining many aspects of both genders. He's got dark and ruddy skin and hair, and he's got large, sharp eyes with the sclera looking pitch black and the iris are an amber red colour. His hair is a dark chestnut colour and appear long, Wavey and thick. His ears are long and sharp and they're pierced, showing jewellery and earrings. His nose is "Roman-shaped", and he's got garnet coloured scales scattered on his face and body. He wears makeup around his eyes, and as an important detail, he has bright red antennae sprouting from the crown of his head. He is wearing a reddish dress and he's got a talisman around his neck, one simbolising an evil eye.

Thinking how queer people have been making comics about queerness since as long as there have been comics. It's an essential part of the history of the medium, and I love that so much.

it is my solidly held principle that death--even violent, early death--is not a suitable reason to grant forgiveness. if nothing else than because it says that literally any action is okay, great, even, as long as somebody is willing to end you for it. and honestly: the fuck kind of world is that

#BoycottWindmillMushrooms

Calling on supporters in WA and OR to visit your local Grocery Outlet and ask the manager to STOP stocking Windmill Mushrooms!

CALL TO ACTION:

SUPPORT FARMWORKERS

Lead a delegation to your local grocery store: NO WINDMILL MUSHROOMS UNTIL WA STATE WORKERS GET A FAIR CONTRACT

BOYCOTT WINDMILL MUSHROOMS

1. Locate your local grocery store

2 Review & learn about the boycott

3 Visit & ask grocery manager to stop selling Windmill mushrooms

HOW DO DELEGATIONS (AND BOYCOTTS) WORK?

After a four-year fight and a publicly reported $3.4 million settlement, Windmill Mushroom workers report they still face unfair quotas, retaliation, and what they describe as union-busting tactics! Windmill Farms has refused to recognize the UFW and has refused to negotiate in good faith, undermining workers' rights to collective bargaining.

Now, workers are calling for a boycott!

Safeway and Winco are the biggest buyers of Windmill mushrooms!

Workers are in crisis, and they need your support!

Urge retailers like Safeway to STOP stocking products that workers say come from unjust and exploitative conditions! No profits over people!

YOU are a customer-and your voice matters.

HOW TO: LEAD A DELEGATION

LOOK FOR THIS LABEL!

Windmill Farms

1. Find your local Safeway, Grocery Outlet, Yoke's, WinCo, or pizza parlor!

2. Review & learn about the boycott history; print the UFW president's letter to Instar

3. Visit & ask to speak to store manager; request that they stop selling Windmill Mushrooms & explain why the boycott matters!

PRO TIPS:

Ask for the manager's contact information!

Be polite & follow manager's requests!

Avoid blocking any entrances or exits! Don't be disruptive of business.
