Anyone else struggling with American Hagwon? I'm just shy of halfway through and I think this book was in desperate need of an editor.

It is Bandcamp Friday! It's a great day to buy my EP, Better Late Than Never, since 100% of the money goes to me! I didn't do it for the money, and I have been thrilled by people taking the time to listen to it, but if you're inclined, today's the day: nixonstapemachine.bandcamp.com/album/better...

I'm just shy of 100 pages into American Hagwon at the moment, and it feels to me like it could have used a stronger editorial hand. I understand thematically why every character gets a lengthy introduction, but I am constantly losing sight of the story as a result. There's nothing to hold onto.

I think it was @richterscale.bsky.social who introduced me to the Daily Waffle. The Deluxe Waffle isn't usually a struggle for me, but I feel like I'm having a stroke:

A 7x7 grid with partially complete words. None of the words save the top one, "Crumbed," make any sense at all. They are random collections of letters.

Once more for the evening crowd, I have spent the last several months recording my first proper EP, Better Late Than Never, with musicians around NYC. If you are interested, you can listen to it for free or pay to download it on Bandcamp. nixonstapemachine.bandcamp.com/album/better...

I picked up a copy of the collected letters of JRR Tolkien for reasons, and this is the most bullshit table of contents I've ever seen. I'm actively angry that it exists

Wrong. Goku would simply be disinterested in Road Runner because he displays cunning not strength. Vegeta on the other hand, would spend 5 episodes of B story getting his shit rocked.

People are having a good ol' time with this, but contextually—given that the obituary in question talks about all of her activism and isn't shy about her stated opinions—it is pretty obvious that "stayed neutral in the culture war" is about her position as a figure. This is inarguably accurate.

What are the chances anyone in this administration has seen FERRARI?
