Basingstoke Town 1-1 Gosport Borough. Another Hampshire derby. The ‘Stoke were unlucky not to equalise when Solomon’s shot hit the post, followed by a brilliant Holden save from an Upton header. Okine-Peter finally grabbed the equaliser with a header from an inch-perfect Colwell cross.

Basingstoke Town 2-1 Bracknell About an hour’s walk through the town brought me to the Winklebury Football Complex. Basingstoke had the better of the second half and pinched a goal when Upton headed in off the post in the 85th minute, from a superb free kick by James Henry.
