Climate change was BARELY mentioned, we talked way too much about 1970s peak oil theory, and pop culture widely let us believe that glass milk bottles and chunky yarn gloves would save the planet. 011
Brett @wetleafbrett.bsky.social · 26/09/2026Even as the characters are obviously huge cultural landmarks, graphic novels had their big boom about 15 years ago, and comic book movies still (somehow) dominate mainstream culture, many young kids never see the simple 3 to 4 panel comic strips, because nobody gets newspapers delivered anymore. 040

One other kid asked her what she was reading and she said something like “oh it’s this weird book of little pictures where the characters talk.” 120
