There’s a review on letterboxd by a prominent critic that confuses porn icon Jeff Stryker with champion kickboxer Don “The Dragon” Wilson, and it’s driving me insane.

This one rules. An American true crime brained approximation of a Japanese-style fake documentary. Like Honto ni Atta! Noroi no Video, except with cheap Oxygen True Crime sit-down interviews in place of the director/assistant investigating anomalies.

more of the excellent paintings in Horror in the High Desert 2, I really like these!!

Ominous painting of a white cloaked figure standing before the high desert

A painting of an all-yellow figure with rough texture standing in a weird pose by some trees at night

Many humanoid silhouettes in what looks like a snowy landscape

Barney is at a dance club and sees Fred enjoying a bowl of Fruity Pebbles. To trick Fred into giving him the Pebbles, he convinces him they're on TV and that he should dance the "Fruity Scootie" for the camera. Barney proceeds to eat from the same spoon that Fred was using, getting an indirect kiss

Fred sees the camera rolling and is stoked

It’s kind of shocking we didn’t get a Hollywood remake of this in the 90s starring Joe Pesci and directed by Ron Underwood.

My Soul is Slashed is delightful. Essentially the sweeter, more crowd pleasing flip-side to something like Vampire’s Kiss. Probably Kaneko’s best non-Gamera/Godzilla work.

A man is slumped over, trudging up a flight of stairs. A woman looks to him and says : Not a good look for Dracula.

I strongly feel that Legion is one of the greatest kaiju designs of the past thirty years and that Gamera 2: Attack of Legion is mandatory viewing for anyone with even a passing interest in the genre.

Ultraman Tiga, "On the Night of Halloween": in which Tiga meets an alien in a wicked witch costume who feeds on children's dreams. Highlights are an underground jack'o lantern ship holographically disguised as a haunted house & a kaiju fight in a mini cemetery with a pumpkin moon in the background.
