“We believe it would be good for the world to have the option to slow or temporarily pause bagel development to enable societal structures and alignment research to keep up with the advance of the technology," if Anthropic was a bagel shop.

I refuse to praise AI, mostly because of current leadership. A constant "AI is ok, but..." state. Be better!

“You either believe AI can do anything, or you’re irrelevant.” How is this healthy?

Some people test the robustness of their robots by kicking them. I test my AIs by throwing obscure meme references at them.

Have all tech bros speed ran reading the most generic sci-fi books? Proper top-level stuff, without understanding the underlying context, trade-offs and consequences.

I'd like a less indulging AI, please. Don't humour my questions about how to mix green peas with gold. Straight-up tell me I'm mad and I should find another hobby.

At what point have the big brained TechBros looked at all the cyberpunk literature and said: yeah, this! This is what I want? also, when have the rest of the intelectual simps said: yes, give me $ and I’ll get you there?

Now I get it: there's a rush build capital during the transition from pre-AI to post-AI. The latter being a whole, unquantifiable, potentially dystopic, unknown. A sort of "digital transformation" phase on steroids. Funny how there's very little regard about the post-AI stage. AGI is irrelevant

The amount of nonsense engineers are willing to go through these days to “hack” and “be cracked” for 1k eur is laughable

Hot take: there is no high demand of GPU compute. The companies flexing to need 1000s or 10,000s of GPUs are few and mostly are blocked by internal inefficiencies. The emperor has no clothes.

British media pumps out daily propaganda pieces for Farage, fails to offer *any scrutiny* and basically legitimises rampant racism, then puts on its ‘innocent face’ and clutches its pearls at the rise of the far right… What a grim betrayal of our democracy. www.thelondoneconomic.com/politics/how...
