Trains between Amsterdam Central and the Airport are a short shuttle line so you’re likely getting on at the first station on the line and it’s gonna be sitting there well ahead of departure time. This kind of thing always confuses me also.

I’m sad my church doesn’t do incense, maybe I should try to get them into it, but at least we get coffee right. Can’t find the exact photo but it’s basically just an oversized drip machine you fit urns under, not a percolator. If you only got one sacrament you gotta make it count (we’re UU 😉)

Computers are great. Like, it makes sense that guessing what language the query was in returns Portuguese, on account of the language it's actually in being obscure and not possessed of an especially standardized spelling; but then also it totally gets the meaning ;-)

Google AI describing the phrase "nao veure fortuna" quite correctly as the lyrics to a soccer anthem... but doing so in Portuguese.

No, it really doesn’t. Looking for pictures of the floor squeegees I came across this setup where the shower and bathroom floor drain are combined but you don’t get the whole bathroom wet. It seems ingenious but I’ve never seen it IRL.

This goes back to a lot of the early washers being retrofit into cold water apartments where the only plumbing fixtures were a utility sink in the kitchen and a toilet, and hot water was itself a retrofit or at any rate an afterthought in the form of a point of use appliance above that utility sink.
