A Haitian man legally immigrated to Ohio, then was given an ankle monitor bc Trump withdrew his status. He threw himself in front of truck. The trucker, who voted for Trump, is haunted. “Pierre was doing what he was supposed to do. We did not do right by him.” www.theatlantic.com/politics/202...

This is a powerful article. Infuriating how every time the trucker was trying to find empathy for Pierre and Haitians in general, his girlfriend and mom kept intervening with some racist logic or conspiracy.

Ossoff: The money that they took from you when they slashed Medicaid and defunded hospitals and nursing homes—They’re taking that money to buy corrupt, taxpayer-funded political ads on national television to try to promote the failed and broken president…

David, I'm torn by two things: 1) This admin, from Trump through Hegseth, is a disaster for the DoD and our troops, and any decision they make is suspect -and- 2) The Chinese, Russians, Iranians, etc are definitely pushing forward with AI and autonomy and there's a legit need to keep up

This is priceless. Check out how local news is reporting on Sen Eric Schmidt’s clown-show grilling of Jack Smith. They found Jack Smith at the game… “Top corner, section 109, row 1. In fact, that seat doesn’t even exist in Atlanta.”

If there were any "DEI hires" on Schmitt's team, this wouldn't have happened. Alas, it was just mediocre white men involved. Such a shock...

I bet if Eric Schmitt had any "DEI hires" on his staff, this catastrophe could have been avoided. Oh well. Mediocre white men strike again...

Whether it’s Benjamin Netanyahu empowering Hamas, presiding over a massive intelligence failure that let them kill 1,200 Israelis on October 7th, and then killing 74,000 Palestinians in response or Zohran Mamdani pointing out that he did this, both men have fueled their bitter feud.

Hey @kevinmkruse.bsky.social, I am not a historian, so can you clue me in to how this phenomenal stretch of governing ended for ol' Calvin? Ron DeSantis is an absolute turnip.
Ron Desantis X post about Calvin Coolidge reduced federal spending, the federal debt, and lowered the top marginal tax rate. However, he left out vital details about events that occurred in 1929 at the end of his term

Just like a Republican, to try and get us to relax and take our foot off the gas before the election. Tom doesn't have the Democrats or country's best interests at heart. Sorry, I had to...I hope you can smell the sarcasm dripping off this

David, the polling must be absolutely devastating for the GOP if they're leaning this hard into absurdist culture war drivel. I mean, it must be apocalyptic.

This should just be the start. If you want the House and Senate to gain respectability, then the new Dem leaders should state that Congress will work M-F every week from Jan 27 to pass bills and hold the admin accountable. No recesses. Passing bills in the AM, impeachments in the PM. Day after day

I think they have to go through the pain of November before they accept where they're at. Polls aren't 100%, so they'll need to hot stove to truly burn before they take action

Weedyfunk @weedyfunk.bsky.social · 23/09/2026
I disagree. The short term admission that they effed up will case a lot of pain, but I feel it would pay dividends long term, because while MAGA might cry, the rest of the voting populace is desperate for honesty and progress. Every election is a battle for turnout and independents.

I mean, what's more likely: - it's not financially viable to cater to the mask-wearing disabled LTGBQ+ community in late 2026 Or - A establishment that *DID* cater to the mask-wearing disabled LTGBQ+ community is suddenly virulently anti-disabled LTGBQ+. It's a conundrum, for sure.

Apparently there was a desire to have a place like this, assuming the posters were actual frequenters of the establishment. Now there isn't place for these ultra-cautious to go, and they're upset. It makes sense, even if you don't agree with their premise on masking.

Weedyfunk @weedyfunk.bsky.social · 22/09/2026
Caveat: haven't read the story. But if you've set a precedent being a place where people who want to wear masks to feel safe can go, then when you change that policy, I don't think it's unreasonable to expect pushback. Whether it's reasonable to want to wear masks in 2026 is another discussion 1/
