I feel that the analysis of the Disneyland ride is a pretty strong heart of the book and it was probably the easiest part of it to write. But I'm very much about cultural context and I was secretly delighted that I managed to delay getting to Walt Disney until page 53 #WEDReads

It's all too easy to feel like Disney only started compromising their product in the past 20 years but I was very proud to bring out the aspect of the construction of Walt Disney World that was a perpetual sweaty palmed panic. #WEDReads

I won't say they probably the chunk the book I'm most proud of is the history of the WDW version.... especially coming after the history of the Disneyland version it's a startling contrast. #WEDReads

My Walt Disney's EPCOT book with notes from Herb Ryman - purchased for $6 on Amazon with the note that it "may have writing in the margins." Just wasn't expecting THAT writing! Also has a drawing from Nina Rae Vaughn and signatures of other Imagineers, including George McGinnis.

Cover of Walt Disney's EPCOT - Creating the New World of Tomorrow

A 2-page spread showing concept art of EPCOT Center by Herb Ryman - the top of the left page has a note saying To Dr. Haskell and family and the right page has Herb Ryman's signature, and a note describing the art - "A study attempting to show a sort of a glamorous, golden paradise."

Scan of story boards for Meet the World, with a note from Herb Ryman written above it saying "Part of a story board showing Admiral Perry arriving in Japan - with gifts of various 'toys.'"

Writing on the side of a page in a book saying "Herbert Ryman, 1981. A painting and design of the native dance area. The public sits on mounds of earth - fallen logs and stumps in a semi-circle. This pavilion to possibly be ready sometime 1983."

Too many books to choose from! This was from a 1994 exhibition at the Indianapolis Museum of Art.

Cover of "Walt Disney's Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs: An Art in Its Making" showing a cel of Snow White sweeping the floor of the dwarfs cottage.

Title page of "Walt Disney's Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs: An Art in Its Making", signed by (left side):

Probably the self-published memoir of C. Langhorne Washburn, who was a lobbyist for World Showcase in the 70s. Sadly, it's short and there's not enough Dis content.
