Things found in my desk drawers included:

A bag of Scrabble tiles.
Five cassettes.
A Weeping Angel mask, plus the full complement of ten accompanying scary fingers.
Loose change: 46p in pennies, 52p in two pences, 35p in five pences, £1.20 worth of twenty pences, two fifty pences, five pound coins, 50 Albanian lek, 5 rupees. But no ten pence pieces. Weird...
Numerous receipts from record shops, including one from Zavvi, which went into liquidation in early 2009.
The Billboard Music Guide on CD ROM (1997) for Windows 3.1 & 95. Allowing me to find out about all sorts of music without having to make my weekly trip to the internet, and including more than 900 photos! 900!!! Can you imagine? Plus the option to 'Create your own shopping list and take it to your favorite retailer'! (That would be Zavvi, obvs.)

'Everyday Hurts', Squeeze's 'Slap And Tickle', Kate Bush's 'Them Heavy People', The Jags'
'Back Of My Hand', The Police's 'Message In a Bottle', and Nick Lowe's 'Cruel To Be Kind'.
And that's not a 'compilation', just a 'normal' Thursday night TOTP weekly show - they were all in the charts at the same time, along with The Tourists' The Loneliest Man In The World, Rainbow's 'Since You've Been Gone', ELO's 'Don't Bring Me Down', Gary Numan's
'Cars, The Ruts' 'Something That I Said', Roxy Music's "Angel Eyes', The Crusaders' Street Life' and The Flying Lizards' "Money', all of which were on in the two weeks before. So good!
