I asked #ChatGPT why we *shouldn't* use code directly from #GenAI. Here are the take aways: ⚠️ GenAI ≠ production code. ❌ 35% of AI-generated code is incorrect ❌ Hallucinated functions & APIs ❌ Legal & security risks ✅ Use as inspiration, not implementation. Humans write safe, accountable software.

I asked #ChatGPT why we should NOT use code directly from GenAI. Here are the takeaways:

⚠️ Hallucinations are real:
In a recent study, 35% of generated code was incorrect, and over 2,000 hallucinations were found in just 3,000 code snippets.
GenAI can invent functions, APIs, or logic that don’t exist — and they look deceptively plausible.

🔐 Security risks:
No guarantee that the code is safe or follows secure coding practices. Vulnerabilities or outdated dependencies often slip through.

📉 Unreliable quality:
Code may lack documentation, ignore best practices, or be unmaintainable — especially in complex, real-world use cases.

⚖️ Legal gray zones:
The origin and licensing of generated code is not traceable. Risk of unknowingly using copyrighted or non-compliant content.

👨‍💻 No accountability:
AI doesn’t support, maintain, or fix the code it generates. If something breaks, your team is responsible.

✅ TL;DR: Use GenAI as a thinking partner, not a codebase.
Double-check everything. Trust human expertise.
