My favorite! I hope they sang!

You’re welcome! That volume is full of treasures but that page is awesome. Also, Kathryn M. Rudy has a whole chapter on kissing in her book “Touching Parchment”.

So many gems in those Deweys. I don’t know that one. Check with Nora. I doubt there is anything in the office files but maybe? What an awesome find!

Zwicker mentions this copy in his chapter in Loewenstein and Mueller’s Cambridge History of Early Modern English Literature (2002). Not sure how he learned about. Perhaps from Tom Bishop. Love it when our small but mighty collection appears out there in the world!

In a week filled with unpleasantness and uncertainty it was a bright moment when we received a copy of this book at our library. It is a thing of beauty, one of 50 copies printed. Melville’s Billy Budd, illustrations by the great Barry Moser.

My freshly arrived copy of @rebeccaromney.com new book, atop an exhibit case for our “Jane Austen’s Library” exhibit. We look forward to Rebecca’s visit to speak at our library on April 22nd!

Our library’s Cistercian psalter is a treat. I’m unsure what these leaves are doing. I think I see Saint names but what are the hash marks that fill the lines? Thank you to my medievalist friends! @lisafdavis.bsky.social @erikkwakkel.bsky.social @ejjohnson.bsky.social

I am WAY fortunate to have decades worth of office files for our library’s Special Collections. While looking for something else, I ran across this postcard sent to my predecessor in 1959 from Frederick Goff!

A librarian in his natural habitat: I gave a talk last week for a local book collecting club about a Charles Dickens letter we have in our library’s collection. Fun!
