As I haven’t played for several months, I decided I would update #Fortnite and just drop in to mess around for a while. Well…

I doubt I’ll beat the game at RL1, but I’m just happy to have got halfway through. I wasn’t sure I could manage that much.

One of the nicer aspects of this run is I don’t have to keep tracking my runes, as they’re largely useless to me. I just lost 100K to an ant. So what? I’m not levelling up anyway.

Generally I’ve been trying to outsmart things rather than becoming (say) a parry god. That’s why for Morgott I summoned Melina, the Dung Eater and Latenna, and abused Margit’s Shackle for free hits.

WaywardPython @waywardpython.bsky.social · 23/05/2026

It’s been tough and often exasperating, but it’s also been an enjoyable experience. Not having your usual safety zone (big health bar, high enough stats for weapons) refocuses your thinking and makes the game more of an intellectual challenge.

WaywardPython @waywardpython.bsky.social · 23/05/2026

Like a fool I started my first ever level 1 playthrough of #EldenRing. Surprisingly easy at first, it quickly became difficult at Radahn, then Morgott became a major roadblock until I assembled the correct components to beat him.

Looks like there could be a lot of plot waiting to be discovered. So far it feels like a fusion of S1 and BZ. I’ll have a much better idea once I can access more of the map, but it took me forever to make an oxygen tank.

First thoughts on #Subnautica2: lovely design. Good that the mechanics are familiar, without just carrying everything over unchanged. Slightly frustrating survival issues, but once I’ve unlocked how to overcome them it should be easy.

I hope you’ll all join me on #Twitch later today for the very first look at #Subnautica2, released today in Early Access. 7pm BST, 2pm EST.

Cover art for Subnautica 2. A pair of humanoid figures in diving suits, in the middle of a vast underwater landscape, filled with vague outlines of tentacled leviathans and a very great deal of purple coral

Anyway it turns out perfumes in the base game are rubbish. The only one really worth using is the Uplifting Aromatic, and that’s outclassed by Golden Vow anyway. Still, it was fun trying to track down all the arteria leaves in the game.

000

WaywardPython @waywardpython.bsky.social · 18/04/2026

This time my #EldenRing build was centred on perfumes. Elizabeth Arden (pictured) was essentially a DEX build - got the nagakiba early and mostly used Unsheathe, which is way more powerful than I’d appreciated - but with extensive use of perfume consumables.

A young woman with a pale texture sits on a wooden throne. She wears a dark robe covered by a brown tabard. Dead leaves are scattered across the ground. Behind her are ornately carved stone pillars.
