In survey after survey, year after year, voters say Democrats are weak. Messaging alone won't fix that, but if you start with a clear message that contrasts with your opponents—and then you govern in alignment with that message—Democrats can in fact shake off the "weak" tag.

And last, our anti-ICE immigration message. We tried writing a message that avoided the usual two-sided arguments about needing to secure the border; whether that would have improved this or not is an area for more study. But this was a positive result that we will keep refining and building on.

To our surprise our strongest message overall 🏆 was on crime. This was an iterated version of @vera.org's very effective Serious on Safety work. Coming soon, we have ad testing from a concept based on this message. Strong evidence that Dems do not need to move right to persuade voters on crime!

We dial tested a few messages and made our lives more difficult by including partisan cues, where many of the lines drop. But all of these on net stayed in positive, strong territory. This Mamdani-inspired message about government that works is evidence his approach has broader appeal.

Post messaging, we drove Dems into positive territory almost across the board, including fighting immigration to nearly a draw. (still D-2) Dems have dug themselves a deep ditch on immigration with hundreds of millions on ads telling voters Rs have better answers. They should stop doing that.

When framed as a choice, voters across key segments overwhelmingly picked a left leaning, inclusive populist worldview over the right's dark, obsessive and weird use of marginalized communities to generate a sense of threat and fear. Even in this terrain the margin with all voters was 59 to 37. +22!
