The only “Indian Question” worth asking is do you spring for the more expensive place because their naan is better or stick with old reliable?

I don't understand how they think non-Christians can't assimilate. I mean, I don't like Trump but he's definitely an American.

On the other hand, I can think of few more entertaining things than watching Trump take an IQ test live on TV. Pay-per-view could fix the national debt.

I have just today learned who Suella Braverman is and I think we should maybe not have the internet anymore. That's too much information, thanks.

New-  We've all heard about the spiraling, skyrocketing, and soaring rates of college tuition. In reality, undergrad net tuition education has been stagnant or even declining for roughly two decades. So why do very few people know this? www.chalkbeat.org/2026/10/01/w...

When I think of people who understand Judaism, Greek Philosophy, effective imperial management, and enlightenment ideals, somehow Pete Hegseth does not make the list.

- AI will take all your jobs. - AI might kill us all. - AI is inevitable and you cannot stop it. - Please everyone be cool about giving us lots of money and the land permits we want and the regulations we are asking for. See if you can spot the statement inconsistent with all the others.

“I was just never going to change who I was, even when the world was asking me to change who I was, to be a character in their story.” A candid Karl-Anthony Towns goes deep with @TheAthletic on turmoil, tragedy and triumph Free to read: www.nytimes.com/athletic/761...

Karl-Anthony Towns had the last laugh. And he’s not done smiling yet (Gift Article)
For years, Towns heard he was too soft to win. Now an NBA champion, he's savoring the vindication — and the joy that got him here.

I mean yes. But it is surprising to me that blue state AGs haven’t sued. Seems like the kind of thing someone aspiring to higher office might do.

Given the (to me) incomprehensibly muted response to all the OpenAI and Anthropic hacking disclosures and apocalyptic talk from their CEOs, I find myself morbidly wondering what it would take for governments to start applying the law to these firms.

I am not criticizing, because not everyone can do this, but this is why I've basically gone 100% to paper in my classrooms. I still do grades and attendance on the portal but only because I'm basically required.

nobody genuinely believes that grasping complex arguments or learning to put words in order to express thoughts skilfully is no longer important in a general sense. but *many* people believe that it's no longer important that other people's children be able to do so, especially if it costs anything

Isn’t this why government exists? To protect the common good against rogue actors who hurt society in their pursuit of narrow self-interest?

Criticize AI critics all you want. Some deserve it. But man this is just super strange behavior. I cannot think of any other company that talked like this while trying to go public. It’s really weird!

Lots of people around the world - South Americans, Asians, Africans - have their own fine, racist distinctions in which some people are better than others by birth. What they don’t understand is white supremacists don’t care. They will gladly murder or enslave everyone not 100% not N. European.

It’s weird that exercise gets to market itself as miserable when education always has to be “effortless”. Both require effort and are hard. Why would we think that’s ok with muscles but not the brain?

I’m not trying to avoid this song. I’m just old with young kids. It’s not a flex. Also I just listened to it on Apple Music and it’s fine but not obviously different from lots of pop country songs. If that statement seems objectively wrong to you just remember what I already said: I’m old.

I am in my 40s. My kids aren’t very old. I only listen to NPR. I don’t have cable. Thats enough that Ive never heard this song. It’s not hard or weird.

Not making a big grand theory but for myself, terrible news is so ubiquitous that I can’t bring myself to read anything scary or sad even if I’ve loved it before. I’m way behind on Slow Horses, for instance. I just want escapism right now. The world is too much.

My school’s online platform changed all the tabs to start with “My”. Like “MyAcademics” and “MyServices” which, in addition to making it harder to quickly find want is just stupid. If I’m logged in whose academics and services would they be? Anyway administration was very excited about this change.
