I excitedly imported a physical copy of the remaster as soon as it released! ...it's still in the plastic wrap. 🫣 I also own a PS1 copy and I bought it digitally on Vita. I played the Vita copy for like...an hour. 🫠 I'll get to it eventually.

The games are fine, but the super fans are definitely nostalgia-fueled. There's nothing wrong with that; it's just hard for newcomers to get that same experience.

I think both Paper Mario and Paper Mario TTYD are overrated. I loved the N64 game when I was a kid. I replayed it on NSO and it was fine. I owned TTYD when I was in college and didn't get the hype. They are very simple RPGs.

Checking out reviews during the Steam Sale leads to horrible stories. "Cool Cheap Game: Not Recommended Game is buggy and terrible. I hate everything about it. Don't play it. 150 hours played." Why are gamers torturing themselves like this?

I've been jumping between a few games lately. I started Little Kitty, Big City. It's super cute. 🐈‍⬛ Also replaying Earthbound now. The first Your Sanctuary boss was much harder than I remember. 🐜 And I continue to spend too many hours decorating fake houses in WoW. 🫠

Machine learning is valuable and has been used to assist creators in multiple industries for a long time. An entire generation never learned how to work without those tools. It's not the same thing as using a Large Language Model to generate new assets from a text prompt.

This is increasingly a problem even when translation is not involved. "AI" is a marketing term that obscures the technologies being used, and backlash to AI is causing collateral damage to automation technologies that we've used for a decade or more.

Boss battles include platforming challenges to make the best use of the game mechanics. Otherwise, they would just die to spamming random sword attacks. The look and some themes are inspired by Kingdom Hearts, but it plays more like "Ratchet lost his gun".

My favorite new game of the year. ♥️ Platforming is definitely the highlight. Lots of collectibles to find, and there's a lot of backtracking to old area with new skills to find everything. Combat is simple. You do unlock new skills that add more depth, but it never gets complex.

This is almost what I use. I switch Item Select to X and Item Cancel to Select. I almost never use Item Cancel. I just rapidly tap X.

This is mostly how I feel. I actually thought most of this drama was over by now. I'm slightly annoyed at the slower pace of major WordPress updates, but I still use WordPress for almost all my projects and the latest updates have been great.

Games I Completed in 2026 #17: Final Fantasy I really enjoyed this as my first Pixel Remaster. Believe it or not, this is the first 2D Final Fantasy game that I've ever finished. 😅 I won't jump into another immediately, but I intend to work my way through 1-6.

I almost didn't watch this video because of the thumbnail. The discussion actually has nothing to do with "war in Warcraft". They briefly talk about fun experiences they had in the beta, and Xaryu mentioned how they organized a huge world PvP battle. It was less than 5 minutes of the video.

I've loved World of Warcraft for decades but never played the original RTS games except a few hours of Warcraft 3. Never played Doom, Fallout, Phantasy Star 1-4, Skies of Arcadia. I've played bits of Final Fantasy 1-6 but never finished any of them (working on 1 right now).

I've been playing Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin on-and-off this summer. It's a good game, and I think I'm ready to put it down. The rice farming is really in-depth. I like the farming aspect, but I dislike how it is so tied to my character stats. I love the platforming sections. They're very fun.

Definitely. I never played PTR or beta because I don't like repeating the content again so soon. When I level alts, it's almost never with the current campaign. I don't want to do it multiple times in a short time frame.

Yup. I was constantly grounded and not allowed to play video games for minorly misbehaving, and video games were not allowed on Sundays even when I wasn't grounded. My youngest brother got away with basically anything and everything.
