Two years ago, I released Tales of Weirderland into the world. I've been humbled to hear kids call it their favorite book. Or parents tell me how their kids identified with characters or stories. I finally decided to make it available as an ebook starting July 20th. 💙📚 #BookSky #KidLit

The timing wasn't ideal, but I was near a breaking point. I feel like I'm comfortably away from that now. But good gods the news cycle has not helped.

I've been working with a good therapist pretty intensely over the past couple of months. I had a lot to work through, and I still have more, but it's getting easier. It has resulted in a few extremely tough weeks as we unpacked trauma responses and dismantled unhealthy masking.

I like to say things like "...with a methodical efficiency that one could only describe as thoroughly rehearsed, and well planned." But I also like inflating the wordcount when drafting.

THE FIXER, THE MAKER, THE DRAG ENTERTAINER
A QUEER ROMANCE
by Kyle Steenblik ‧ RELEASE DATE: June 2, 2026

A playful and heartfelt romance that expertly grounds fantastical elements in a real-world love triangle.
"This fun and frothy love story offers strong LGBTQ+ representation while simultaneously delving into the oft-misunderstood world of polyamory. Steenblik expertly tackles myriad issues of modern love—from the emotional complexities to the physical logistics—with a refreshing straightforwardness and a cheeky splash of the supernatural. ... the novel’s magic really shines when it focuses on Mark’s emotional growth and his sexy (not graphic) love triangle with Elijah and Viktoriya. Steenblik has crafted an entertaining and poignant romance that celebrates love in whatever form it may take." -Kirkus Reviews

Not long ago, I found myself in the center of a magnificent love triangle, not as a participant, but as a meddler. Forget the butcher, the baker, and the candlestick-maker. This is a New Jersey story, which means we trade the old rhymes for a slightly more colorful cast.
Mark—The Fixer—cares for broken things: stubborn printers, messy lives, and the family apple orchard he refuses to lose. He never thought too hard about the way his best friend Elijah—The Drag Entertainer—a magnetic drag queen and walking flirt, made his chest feel too tight. Perhaps Mark’s mind was preoccupied by the flirtations of Viktoriya—The Maker—a visionary Ukrainian designer and baker whose attention felt like sunlight Mark didn’t know he’d been missing.
Then during a routine IT service call for a Rutgers philosophy professor, Mark found himself holding my prison—an antique bronze lamp. True to his nature, he sensed an injustice and compassionately freed me without a second thought.
Call me Eros. Not a genie nor a god—but both were based on me. I am just a powerful, ancient, cosmic entity. I can’t grant wishes, but I do like to meddle, and Mark’s inconvenient love life became my favorite hobby.
Over six weeks, flirtations turn to confessions, and awkward moments into point-of-no-return choices. Glittering drag numbers become declarations. Bread-baking folds into intimacy. But when a developer closes in on the orchard, the pressure forces an impossible choice. The four of us must discover exactly how far we’ll go to protect what we’re building—or risk losing it all.
