Really interesting huge-DIY project turned into a business of making the most mechanically efficient surfing wave pools by using pneumatics instead of some kind of sled to push the water. #surfing #DIY youtu.be/h39CoNLisRo?...

It’s World Reef Awareness Day. Please wear reef safe sunscreen at the beach, or even better - don’t support golf & country clubs that over-fertilize their grass and cause run off pollution that de-oxygenates the ocean. Not only does it ruin ecosystems but can also destroy local fishing industries!

This guy recorded 2 years of his practice and progression learning how to ride a pump foil. Really shows what it takes to get good, and that sometimes you need to engineer a portable dock for launching! #foiling #wingfoil #pumpfoil youtu.be/LAbNW7QViFo?...

I’ve been rereading ‘70s Doonesbury recently, and it feels all too similar to current day politics. On the bright side, today I learned who Simone de Beauvoir was. #feminism #doonesbury

Doonesbury comic with a young girl and boy learning about Simone de Beauvoir from their day care teacher Joanie Caucus.

Middle of the night thought: I’m not so much afraid of heights as I’m afraid of a strong gust of wind making me lose my balance, or a railing that’s improperly secured.

Turns out that the people calling the shots were to blame all along. Also: "There was the team that had to drop everything they were doing because the creative director had played Breath of the Wild over the weekend and came away with some Great Ideas." I HATE TEAM LEADS LIKE THIS!

When they talk about privatizing Veterans’ care and Medicare, they mean allowing companies to provide healthcare for a profit. But how do companies make those profits? By *denying* care to many who need it. Don’t get fooled by the “privatization” label. It means “for profit” and YOU are the cost.

For all the reasons why someone might not go out to eat some place, it baffles me how often restaurant websites lack a menu to preview before you go. They’ll have a whole ordering app built in for takeout I can fudge through for the food, but I can’t see what’s on tap before I go?
