After three straight days of hosting for two kids birthday parties, the last 9yo has been picked up and we are off the clock. A gorgeously sunny day of yard work, Halloween decorating, lasagna prep and football are on deck to celebrate 9’s birthday and our two week run of all our kids birthdays.

Churchill War Rooms was unreal. Rosetta Stone and other antiquity at the British Museum. Tate Modern and National Gallery for art. Cheshire Cheese was a cool vibe for food and drink.

I used a backpack for work clearing brush on our family property. Months later I still hadn’t found where I tucked my extra reciprocating saw blades, but on my way to Greece for our 20th anniversary, TSA found them for me. I had even checked beforehand, but obviously not very well.

I know you’re in a time where your body has a lot of other needs but when it works for you, I can’t recommend enough a practice that involves back bends. I sit far too much, back bends like yoga wheel pose help release all those front muscles.

Indeed. All my kids including 9yo are very capable in the kitchen. The little guy regularly makes mac, quesadillas or pancakes for himself, 13 picked up clam pasta last year and enjoys making it for the family, 15 is moving in to more full meal planning and prep with us.

Hoodies are my thing, they can be comfortable through a wide temperature range and be a base layer under a wind breaker or rain coat. I love my North Face E-tip gloves; they’re light and warm, keep my hands comfortable while holding a beverage outside.

We roast them whole and then that’s the base on which we add chili. It’s a very hearty and tasty combo. We’ll also cube and roast them and serve as a side with chicken.

13 had a birthday party and I made the best ribs I’ve ever made. Three hours, charcoal and applewood, dry rub with a cider vinegar wash and at the end a light drizzle of sauce.

Imagine explaining to an ancient human, everything behind how the modern human in many parts of the world would be presented with this choice and it would be totally reasonable.

A product listing suggesting users should buy a chainsaw holder, a gas can holder to power that saw, and a beverage cooler holder to power the saw owner. Implies the existence of tractors, farms, ice, canned beverages, and an infinitely complex society to deliver all these goods the world over.
