Pat Metheny asked for no phones and it was the best, so you’ll just have to trust that his set and our unobstructed seats 10 rows back and eye level with Pat were everything. Joe Dyson on drums was a revelation, I’ll make an effort to see any band he’s playing in.
The Egg, Albany NY. The stage is set for Pat Metheny.

Completing a trifecta of cooking this weekend with pancakes. I’m not in competition with anyone but I’m not beyond thinking it’s cool if my kid’s friends go home saying I made the best ever version of the food I cooked 🙂

Imagine explaining to an ancient human, everything behind how the modern human in many parts of the world would be presented with this choice and it would be totally reasonable.
A product listing suggesting users should buy a chainsaw holder, a gas can holder to power that saw, and a beverage cooler holder to power the saw owner. Implies the existence of tractors, farms, ice, canned beverages, and an infinitely complex society to deliver all these goods the world over.

Pretty much sums up today
The poster is in a canoe while his children play in kayaks nearby. It is the end of a long fun day in the Adirondacks. The poster convinced his family to arrive at 9 to rent boats and get a day site. The poster and family set up on a sweet beach at a quiet lake. He cooked eggs and sausages for breakfast, and burgers for dinner, and taught one of his kids how to play bocce. The weather, sun, water, food and vibes were perfect.

You’ve had fun, but have you had Cqlleezy Fun??
An AI product sign dripping with cheesy US patriotic themes reads “Cqlleezy Fun!”. AI is not human and has no taste, and neither do the people who use it in place of real art.

Don’t do this
A person drove their large, new, expensive SUV into a ditch that appears to be at least three feet deep. Their other choice was to easily egress the parking lot on the pavement, which is very visible.

Pick any part of the image, and keep zooming in. No matter where you look, the universe is filled with galaxies. Billions and billions of galaxies, across all of space and time. viewer.legacysurvey.org#PGC990052
"The new map, created by the Dark Energy Spectroscopic Instrument (DESI) Legacy Imaging Surveys team, contains a staggering 5.6 trillion pixels and combines more than 263,000 telescope exposures collected over more than a decade. The observations span visible and near-infrared wavelengths, providing an enormous portrait of stars, galaxies and other cosmic phenomena across the sky, according to a statement from the National Science Foundation (NSF) NOIRLab."

When you live in a free state but are arbitrarily subject to the machinations of the authoritarian states
While a resident of New York State, in a New York State park, the poster was accused of being in Texas and subject to Texas law that requires government papers to use the Internet. The posters only choice was to hand over his papers, his GPS coordinates, or silence his voice. In the moment, the poster chose silence, but is sharing this screenshot because we shall not be silent in the face of this authoritarianism and insanity.

I’ll never tire of trying to make the perfect pancake, knowing that such a thing does not exist, but that the journey to the unknowable is what sustains the human spirit. Through pancakes we can learn about ourselves, and the stars of which we’re made.

I kinda like that Buckethead’s lighting is constant and low, it makes capturing him in the act a matter of good timing and feeling his vibe for when he’s not moving around the stage and the highlights are just right. Sometimes a haunting, sometimes an angel.
