Explaining research is a skill—not just a necessity. Whether you're talking to colleagues, family or policymakers, adapting your message matters. Credits: errantscience.com #ResearchCommunication #PhDLife #AcademicSky

Off piste from Researcher Development - but I have a Monday mystery (which I do not have a solution to - so there is not going to be a grand reveal Poirot Style). It's the mystery of the moving stones - a thread... On Thursday evening my partner & I went out for 90 mins, I topped up 2 water bowls...

I'm sure I'm not the only person who has had to process hate responses in an anonymous survey - my latest 'is to justify more administrators IT MUST STOP LEAVE US ALONE WE HATE YOU' What techniques can we suggest for managing unprovoked anonymous rage? #PhDSky #AcademicSky

From the ever insightful Hugh Kearns www.ithinkwell.com.au In a PhD you have to be a bit more assertive. Ask questions Propose solutions Make a decision Take action Ask if there is anything you can do to help. If you sit and wait you could be waiting for a very long time. #PhDSky

@susanwardell.bsky.social Just come across your graphic which summarises a full time lecturer post - it's a great demonstration of the complexity of the role but also how our skills can be utilised in other roles. Hope ok to share here #AcademicSky #EduSky #PhDLife

Wanted to add some more thoughts to AI in research and academia and was sent this .The original post is from @jksteinberger.bsky.social The key for me is 'unsustainable and I'd much rather they make their own mistakes' and how we will un-diversify research & inhibit creativity. #PhDSky #Academia ??

#PhDSky Shall we share our windows- literal windows? What do you look out of/ on when working. ( Yes my favourite Xmas present the skateboarding dinosaur and yes my daffs are looking a little worse for wear) UK so a little cloudy at the mo, with spring on it's way
window and window sill with tree beyond. Toy dinosaur sat on toy skateboard with daffodils ( fading) off to the side.
