Reasons to make big pot of pea soup: 1. It takes all night to soak the dried peas. 2. It takes 2-3 hours to cook. 3. Tastes good. 4. In Finland we eat pea soup with pancakes. So there will be pancakes as long as there's pea soup.

Denmark, particularly in Copenhagen, has installed floating platforms/islands planted with wildflowers and native vegetation in its harbors and canals. These create safe urban habitats and sanctuaries for birds, bees, pollinators, insects, and even some aquatic life. Original post

Also the nut butter went well with Greek yogurt, which sounds odd but I had odd tastes in food pre-pregnancy. The former chemistry geek in me wants to talk about carbon-hydrogen bonds in saturated and unsaturated fats, and also adding hydrogen... I'm going to go study to make my brain happy.

I made almond/cashew butter at home to save a little money and help curb chocolate and smoked salmon cravings. I'm pretty sure I just craved fats and nut butter is healthy, just a bit costly. It seems to have worked.

I visited Örö -island (off the coast of Finland) and read about sea kale. It's a pioneer plant often first to grow and tolerates salt. I saw a big sea-green cabbage growing on the shore and recognized it as the sea kale and I've been a bit obsessed since. Sea kale used to be grown for food as well.

I've read experiences by people who had under active symptoms (including or leading up to painful periods) as young as 13 and were dismissed because it's a "middle aged women's illness and no one that you can have hypothyroid". Painful periods are not normal and should be treated.

I'm lacto-ovo-pescatarian, I don't eat meat but I do eat milk, eggs and fish but possibly not enough. I've also had my gallbladder removed which caused absorption issues. I've been taking a B12 supplement and my pregnancy has been fine so far, and reading the news made me think I maybe doing ok.

Honestly, all the blue pieces in this series were my favorites.

A photograph of a watercolor and gouache painting on paper. The palette is a monochromatic blue and depicts three humanoid figures: two standing above one that’s reclining in the grass. The resting figure has vines growing out of a void in her face. The vines spread across the page, weaving in-and-out of the other figure’s faces.

A scanned image of a watercolor and gouache painting on paper. Consisting of a cool palette, it depicts two humanoid figures fusing together.
