Today, I am grateful for my dog. Today, the Silence was very large, and then my dementia-stricken, problematic 90 year old father sent me back to being 8 years old with less than 3 minutes of casual callousness. And I was alone, except for a warm, soft dog with golden eyes. Dog tax in comments

Just had the honor of moving a baby gopher Tortoise out of the road on my walk. Nestled the little guy safely away from the pavement and wished him a long and diggy life.

As someone who does not use AI chatbots, it is so friggin' surreal to read story after story about shooters/murderers/etc consulting AI about plans & suggestions for doing crime. I would like to speak to the writers of this show & tell them that their plot is really starting to strain credulity...

It was a gorgeous read - hard for me at points because it was existentially personal as a human who grew up willing to believe in magic & longing for connection at any cost. It's a fairy tale with razor edges

A family of Ravens is putting the goth back in gothic at NYC's largest cathedral--St John the Divine. There are five mouths to feed, so the parents are staying busy! ⛪️⛪️⛪️ #Ravens #Cathedral #birding

Waking up in the middle of the night from a nightmare that followed me into my bedroom, sulking in the dark ans whispering harm, I had the best defense: a warm dog curled up beside me to remind me everything was okay. (Dog tax in comments)

Didn't feel like going to the gym today, but I gritted my teeth, grabbed clothes & went...then realized my subconscious chose this shirt for today. #iykyk

The pagan Spring Equinox festival of Ostara is not the antecedent of the Christian Easter, because the pagan Spring Equinox festival of Ostara was created in around 1973. I appreciate that a statement like this warrants some substantiation, so bear with me.

I love that book. _Thud_ was the Pratchett book that solidified @mchshe.bsky.social as my mental image of Vimes. Only Micheal Sheen could do the "WHERE'S MY COW" scene and make me believe every moment.

Yanno, I felt the same way until I saw him perform on stage (2015), then I understood. Jack is charismatic & subversive. He gets people to genuinely buy into really dark things without thinking about it. Oddfellow is 100% superior for me, but I get Jack's pull when he's done well.

FAMU can't use the word Black on anything posted around campus related to Black History Month, to stay in compliance with Florida state laws against DEI. Black students can't use the word Black at their Historically Black College during Black History Month.

It's chilly in Florida, and I'm so glad Brisco has a warm bed and blanket instead of huddling under a trailer shivering like he would have been before he was rescued. I wish they all had homes 🐾 ❤️ #dogsofbluesky #blueskydogs #dog #pitbull

It was felt more than seen, a ripple across skin drawing my eyes to the highway lights flaring in concert. Rain splashed my windshield in unyielding torrents as bitter oranges & exhaust filled my nostrils. Flickers on the #cusp of an arrival, something old & implacable seeking a way in. #vss365

Sometimes, you have to let the silence rise until it becomes a roar that stifles everything, until it forces out the truth that all of it - the small talk, the casual laughter, the noise - is just a #ruse to keep our sanity. And there, in the mute void, we are forced to face ourselves. #vss365

I loved the way the light limned the curves of her face in gold, sodium streetlight glow caught in the soft remnants of the #drizzle caressing her skin while my hands hung lonely at my sides. "Why," eyes glinted like diamond-tipped augers, "have you summoned me to this hellhole again?" #vss365
