When I was an immigration lawyer I had a case involving two people who got green cards through their father. Their father had, before they were born, failed to disclose a marriage to INS; technically fraud. ICE put them in removal proceedings, then agreed to a 212(k) waiver.

An important bit of immigration law which is relevant here; there is already a waiver process — Section 212(k) of the INA — by which immigrants who obtain status through fraud that they didn't know about can avoid consequences like losing a green card. So this is *even weaker* than it already seems.

If there’s evidence of fraud or other financial crimes, let’s see it. But trying to denaturalize and deport a sitting member of Congress over mistakes a parent allegedly made on immigration forms when she was a child is immoral and reprehensible. We can’t stand for it.
