Artificial Intelligence and the Existential Threat Posed by Trump's Technological Fascism
Technofascists, led by Peter Thiel, are using Donald Trump as a useful idiot in their quest to destroy democracy and enrich themselves through a technological dystopia with them in charge

I’ve finished reading — and will review — the top two books which are about the anti-democratic forces prominent throughout our country’s history . Gil Duran’s book is relevant given the threat posed by the Peter Thiel fascist mafia and the existential threat posed by AI. Evil under Trump is next

On October 15, 2005 home team Michigan got the refs to put 2 seconds back on the clock. With one second remaining Michigan scored a touchdown to defeat Penn State. I was there and we “was robbed” by homer refs. Wonder if that happened tonight.

The man is a criminal, an insurrectionist, a mental case, and a simpleton who loves using AI to play big shot. He’s delusional enough to believe his executive orders won’t be overturned as soon as he is out of office

Glenn Close, Ethan Hawke and Others Mourn Tom Stoppard www.nytimes.com/2025/11/30/t... I was fortunate to attend an in-person discussion with this wonderful, humane genius at Philadelphia’s Wilma Theater on December 4, 1999. Unfortunately, I didn’t get to ask any questions.

From 1994 to 2023, Carol and I enjoyed nine plays written by Tom Stoppard and one live interview with him performed in Philadelphia and New York: Travesties, Arcadia, On the Razzle, The Invention of Love, The Real Thing, The Real Inspector Hound, Night and Day, The Coast of Utopia, and Leopoldstadt

Having taken a PolySci undergraduate degree and having followed politics closely since the Nixon administration, I found Dick Cheney to be the politician closest to evil incarnate — until racist birther, serial liar, sexual predator, convicted felon, loudmouthed insurrectionist pig Trump came along.

Greed, racism, and violence to service both were slathered with exceptionalist propaganda to mask the ongoing self-dehumanization that continues to this day. Witness the election of Trump. First H. L. Mencken and recently Nancy Isenberg identified the result: rule by white trash for white trash

Just returned from the No Kings protest running from Philadelphia’s City Hall east in Market Street until reaching Independence Mall. We were packed like sardines at City Hall and it took me an hour to get from the west side to the east and on to Market Street. Then things loosened up a bit.

How the Kremlin kept Trump's businesses afloat whenever they teetered or failed. Everyone knows Trump hit a rough patch during the 2008 crash. Fewer know how Russians stepped in with cash to keep his projects going. This investigation maps out just how crucial those deals were for the Trump brand.

When I see, hear or read vacuous pontifications by House Speaker Mike Johnson, two images spring to mind: (1) Mr. Peabody’s pet boy, Sherman (Rocky & Bullwinkle), but without his spark of intellect, and (2) the southern white trash H. L. Mencken saw in The Sahara of the Bozart, Trump’s MAGA base.
