It’s football day. Ags favored by 14 as of this morning. I would put a small $$ on this game, nothing serious. But with the expected weather and my continued lack of faith in the OL and DL, I would fade the Ags again. Of course I am also 1-3 so far, what do I know.

While I drink the koolaid, I do see a way the Astros can win a playoff series or two. Just not with Espada at the helm. Over the last 30 days, there are 4 SP and plenty of RP pitching very well. But he will likely start a different SP and use Sousa, King, or DLS as RP in leverage situations.

Getting asked about Polo and the rest of the week. The QPF amounts are high, but for 85% of the area I am feeling pretty good. This is needed rainfall. That last 15% is getting worrisome though. If you live in the Hill County, the DFW Metro, or the I-35 corridor, have flood plans this week.

Game day…0-fer on the Ags this season, main reason why you leave emotions at the door. LSU opened 8.5 favorite and sitting at 8. I just have no confidence in the Ag OL or DL. I would bet this and bet LSU to cover. (Ags 1-2 ATS so far)

Lost in this upcoming New Mexico Río Grande and Pecos rivers flood event, is this system clips the Rio Concho in Northern Mexico to get there. Lakes in the Rio Concho are running mostly 10-35 percent full with Madero odd man out at 48%. Let’s see if there is any increase…

Nerding out on data…for DFW taking the avg temps through the 21st and then projected the official forecast out to the 28th, avg temp for September with 2 days to go is sitting just north of 88F. Record warmest September is 85.5F in 2019.

I really struggle with my job sometimes. Forecast PW values are expected to be 2, to 3-4 times wetter than normal from eastern New Mexico up to southern Colorado, and the QPF was lowered. Just enjoy my SDO and some good coffee.

As I sit and enjoy a coffee on the patio, I think I glitched at the end… I grew up, and started with vinyls, moved to cassettes, phased to CDs, downloaded mp3s (purchasing a few) but never paid for streaming…never stopped with CDs and now mix in vinyl. Get off my lawn!

Having big time problems listening to entities say that lessons learned from the July 4, 2025 event were applied and helped during the July 2026 event. Apples to oranges. 2026, we could see the heavy rainfall signature 5 days out. Plus rain fell over days for the most critical area, not hours.

Time to balance my coordination and hydro hats… Putting 5 days of rainfall into the model, we are simulating adding 17 ft of water to Elephant Butte reservoir. Which still barely moves the needle. But not common…

Diving into some stats, every player that has started in the OF for the Astros, with the exception of Alvarez, is hitting less than .200 over the last 30 days. Add in the 31st ranked 1B (over the last month) and that is basically 4 auto outs every time though the line up down the stretch.

With the non-surprising Herbie news and me enjoying CFB like I do…I think I am going to put together a ranking of analysts (maybe work in some play-by-play, but focusing on the analysts). And this ranking and 5$ could get you a cup of coffee…

Well for DFW, we may be done with the hundos, mainly because there is less daylight. Record # hundos for September. Tied for 5th for a calendar year. I think 3rd longest streak without measurable rain for the airport. To me that is abnormal and newsworthy, but I am a river guy.

It’s game day. I am 0-2 picking the Ags ATS. I would not bet this game, but if forced I would put small $ on Ags to cover. Line opened at 15, immediately jumped to 17, and most sites are down to 16.5. Just don’t trust the OL or DL enough to wager.
