Exclusive Brethren leader calls
Jews 'wicked', 'infidel' as Liberals remain silent
By Michael Bachelard and Sherryn Groch
September 26, 2026 - 5.00am
The world leader of the Exclusive Brethren church, which ran a covert campaign supporting the Coalition at the last federal election, has described Jews as evil, malicious infidels who are unable to ever atone for the sin of killing Jesus.
Leaked church records spanning more than two decades reveal Bruce Hales, the church's leader and
"Elect Vessel", repeatedly preaching to his 56,000-stong global flock that Jews are beyond redemption.
"The poor Jew, still in the darkness of Judaism, trying to atone for the things they've done wrong; their lies and their iniquity, and their wickedness," Hales, the Brethren's "Man of God", said in 2009.

Outstanding reporting from #Canada on how deeply embedded Atlas Network partners & people are in trying to get #Alberta to be a separated US pawn. (Note Gina Rinehart is part of the problem there too.) The Atlas Network’s ppl want profit for donors, not your good. See #NZpol links. #Auspol #Cdnpoli
INVESTIGATIVE JOURNALISM FOUNDATION
Before immigrating to Canada, Alberta Institute founder McCaffrey was president of the youth wing of New Zealand's right-wing ACT Party.
McCaffrey said he was introduced to Atlas partner Frontier Centre for Public Policy by David Seymour, who directed the think tank's Saskatchewan office before returning to New Zealand to resume his political career with ACT.
Since being elected to the New Zealand parliament in 2014, Seymour has denied his links to Atlas Network, calling questions about his connections to the group a "conspiracy theory."
McCaffrey replaced Seymour at the Frontier Centre's Saskatchewan office in early 2012, went
through the Atlas Network's leadership academy program in 2013, and worked for the Manning Centre from 2014 until establishing the Alberta Institute.
McCaffrey has also been active in the UCP since its founding, including as a member of the party's 2018 policy committee.INVESTIGATIVE JOURNALISM FOUNDATION
Separatism has gone from an idea on the margins of the conservative movement to one at the centre of Alberta's government.
Over the last decade, a cadre of libertarian think tanks has been instrumental in bringing Alberta separatism into the mainstream, promoting the idea through research, conferences, social media and the press. They've helped craft government policy to prepare Alberta for independence, and to make the threat of secession a powerful "or else" in the province's stand-off with Ottawa.
Connecting this web of institutes and academics are their ties to the U.S.-based Atlas Network, and the revolving door relationship between members of the network and the administration of Alberta Premier Danielle Smith.
Atlas Network is a U.S. non-profit that acts as the hub connecting a global network of about 500
libertarian think tanks in more than 100 countries.

'Tail, film, heckle': Inside the Brethren's secret election influence plot with the far-right
Leaked messages reveal the full story of how the Exclusive Brethren secretly recruited neo-Nazi associates to harass MPs at the election. As the church denies it, one elder confirms his involvement.
By Sherryn Groch and Michael Bachelard
September 14, 2026 - 5.00am
From day one of the 2025 federal election campaign, the prime minister was being secretly tracked. When Anthony Albanese stepped up to speak at a press conference in Brisbane on March 29, a man was already lying in wait.
Albanese would later recall how someone suddenly
"stormed" through the press scrum, "yelling out all sorts of aggressive" things about immigration.
The man, who was quickly bundled out by security, was a far-right influencer named Laurence Mcintyre.
Only months earlier, McIntyre had been pictured alongside neo-Nazis at a white supremacist gathering in Melbourne, and chat logs reveal he also appeared in private neo-Nazi groups on Telegram.

Catholic Archbishop of Sydney Anthony Fisher has criticised some judges and activists for treating the freedom to protest as a "trumping power" over all other rights, enshrining weekly pro-Palestine protests above the common good, social cohesion and the security of the country.
Dr Fisher's speech to the Samuel Griffith Society on Sunday followed Federal Court judge lan Jackman's call to revisit the implied freedom of political communication, revealing in a Q&A session he was confident the High Court would see a "lot of merit" in One Nation leader Pauline Hanson's bid to appeal her racial discrimination case.
