WaitingForJarnathan @waiting4jarnathan.bsky.social · 19hThe AI financial bubble is popping right now. It started this week. I don’t mean the tech is going away; it’s not and there are lots of good use cases. But the idea that there is infinite demand and we need TW of data centers is done. The financial reckoning is going to be wild. 020
WaitingForJarnathan @waiting4jarnathan.bsky.social · 22hThis is very silly. They are using pure math to scare people and hype things. 000

WaitingForJarnathan @waiting4jarnathan.bsky.social · 01/10/2026The biggest change in the last 10 years is moving 10% from center right -> far right and creating unstable politics swinging between center left and far right 000
WaitingForJarnathan @waiting4jarnathan.bsky.social · 01/10/2026If you divide voter into 4 groups, across democracies the general trend is: • Center left (40%) • Far right (30%) • Center right (20%) • Far left (10%) This has the end result of making literally everyone angry. How the 3rd place center right swings determines the direction of the country. 100

WaitingForJarnathan @waiting4jarnathan.bsky.social · 29/09/2026The hard work of build automations is figuring out the process. Computers aren’t that hard. The messy bit is the actual work to build a process. This is why I’m getting super annoyed at PoCs from random (usually senior) people. That wasn’t the hard part 011
WaitingForJarnathan @waiting4jarnathan.bsky.social · 28/09/2026I strongly suspect they distilled Fable to make it because Fable prices were too high 010

WaitingForJarnathan @waiting4jarnathan.bsky.social · 26/09/2026Lock in is pretty weak. The vendors are try to build it, but every one is aware and works against it. I think the desktop apps for non-technical users have the highest switching costs. In software dev it is very easy to change tools and becoming more standardized 000
WaitingForJarnathan @waiting4jarnathan.bsky.social · 26/09/2026The industry has 40 years of experience with “vendor lock in” plus these are pretty naturally fungible plus model quality doesn’t make a big impact a lot of work. IPO is gonna be wild 220

WaitingForJarnathan @waiting4jarnathan.bsky.social · 21/09/2026Millenials are the first generation to grow up in a multicultural society with equal rights for women and woke 1 was the first attempt to try to be actually inclusive. Trump 2 was a pushback on that from young men joining with older generations against inclusion We also uncovered a lot of pests 030

WaitingForJarnathan @waiting4jarnathan.bsky.social · 14/09/2026I think it was Brandon Sanderson that blogged that these exclusive periods are many years, like 7. That seems like a weird thing mentally to know that things are just out there as maybe’s for so long. What has been your experience? 040
WaitingForJarnathan @waiting4jarnathan.bsky.social · 14/09/2026This is with a huge job-creating AI debt boom (~2% GDP), and huge wealth effect from AI-related stocks. Both are fragile, but do exist and are masking the damage elsewhere. Given that tailwind, slightly above trend isn't great. If they reverse, watch out. 000
WaitingForJarnathan @waiting4jarnathan.bsky.social · 14/09/2026Probably, but probably at drastically lower growth rates. Valuations have exponential growth baked in. Users are using cheaper models from them (Sol->Luna). Trusted open source is a real threat. General belt tightening and spend limits. Cursor’s whole deal is cost cutting 140
WaitingForJarnathan @waiting4jarnathan.bsky.social · 14/09/2026Bad news for OpenAI and Anthropic. This is vendor shifting to cut costs. Demand but not willingness to pay 🤷 Openrouter went from a random company to backed by Stripe, which I’m sure is helping IT departments. 150

WaitingForJarnathan @waiting4jarnathan.bsky.social · 13/09/2026This is because model improvements have slowed at the same size and they done want to make bigger parameter models than Astra or Fable. Also no one wants to pay for big models like Astra or Fable. Also who cares about xAI 010

WaitingForJarnathan @waiting4jarnathan.bsky.social · 09/09/2026You heard Jim Palmer. If we can win today and tomorrow, then go on a little streak than we’re in 011
WaitingForJarnathan @waiting4jarnathan.bsky.social · 07/09/2026This is only sort of true. Most software development is iterative with learning along the way and the smaller models do just fine at lower cost. The bigger models run longer with a clear target, but the clear target is the problem more than anything else 020
