Tell your boss I give full permission for you to have a geoduck Monday. Just go home, bury yourself in the soft sand...and don't emerge for years...

Right, but what if, and hear me out, what if going to see the salmon swim upstream fixes all of our problems?

Admin is possibly losing their mind because they said they could hear the urban trees throwing shade…🤷
Trees lining the streets of Downtown Cashmere are casting shade, AND throwing some shade by saying "Oh so just because it feels 20 degrees cooler, you think you are cool now?", "Birch please", "I make oxygen, help filter water, AND help you stay cool…what has your contribution been today?", and "Looks like I am the only neighbor that gets better with age"

Please stop flying your personal drones over wildfires. They can ground or collide with our firefighting aircraft, disrupting time critical firefighting and threatening people’s homes. Your photos are not worth someone’s home. If you fly, we can’t.

Moments like these remind us that we are all in this together. And it will only be by working together, supporting each other, and lifting each other up, that we will get through this challenging time. For more information on wildfires throughout the state, head to dnr.wa.gov/wildfire-portal

That means being fire safe for the rest of this summer, especially in response to the governor's statewide burn ban. Please continue to look to and listen to your local authorities for evacuation directions and updates.

Our crews, alongside partners from across agencies and across states, are working tirelessly to get these fires under control as quickly and safely as possible. We thank them for their work, but they need more than our thanks - they need our vigilance and support.

Just three days into August, this is already the most challenging, devastating fire season our state has experienced in years. Our hearts are with the people all over our state who have had their lives turned upside-down by these disastrous wildfires.

This is a great reminder to stay aware while you are hiking, make noise as you go, bring bear spray along, and keep your distance from any wildlife. You can find out more information about bear safety at wdfw.wa.gov/blackbears.

"That one looks like a dog" "That one looks like ice cream" "That one looks like it cares about wildfire prevention"
A beautiful blue sky, with clouds that somehow resemble the words "Don't set the state on fire" and, miraculously happy little clouds AND a rainbow appeared too. Nature is beautiful.

For years science has proven that nature is better than any and every past relationship, but now a stick, yes the lowly stick, has come to rise above them all.
A headline that reads "Cold weather phenomenon proves a stick can grow a better beard than your ex". Below is a photo of a man hunting for a hint of stubble on his face, and another photo of a stick rocking a beard that even Santa would be jealous of.

We’re seeing the potential for coastal flooding today and Thursday due to what’s commonly called “King Tides” in combination with storm events. If you see a flooded road, don’t risk your it vehicle. Try a different route. Don’t make an emergency worse for our busy first responders. #wawx
Graphic, in general, says: Costal flood hazards possible due to high tide flooding, compound flooding and beach erosion. Never drive through flooded roads. Respect barriers and road closed signs.
