I had so much fun at the official launch event for The Hidden Curriculum of Video Games! Thanks to MQUP, my awesome publishers (who keep the book reasonably priced at $35), my great panelists @hengineer.bsky.social, Ian McPhail, and Kris Alexander, and all the wonderful folks who showed up.

My book is pretty negative about videogames in general, but I have a lot of great things to say about Hypnospace. It's an amazing piece of art. "Y2K--you let me down," is basically a summary of the book, which is why I used it for the epigraph.

They say you can't judge a book by its cover, but since my book was spotlighted as having one of the summer's best academic book covers, I think we should definitely trash that expression.
