K @vyiciu.bsky.social · 19/09/2026Violin students performing last May on the plaza outside Suntory Hall in Tokyo. These were very evidently beginners, as many of them had stickers on the fingerboard to mark finger positions, but I was shocked by how in tune and in unison they played as a group. K @vyiciu.bsky.social · 12/09/2026How about 1/30 at 200mm? This one was taken at Tianmu Baseball Stadium before they banned 200+mm lenses, using a 80-400mm f/4.5-5.6 VR lens on my Nikon F6 and Ilford Delta Pro 3200 film. 220
K @vyiciu.bsky.social · 12/09/2026I have the same 24-120mm f/4 VR lens that I use on my bodies that support image stabilization (F5, F6, F80). I've found that I can reliably get 3 stops of stabilization (so 1/15 sec at 120mm) under just about any circumstance, but I've managed 1/8 sec if I brace myself good and hold my breath. 110

K @vyiciu.bsky.social · 17/07/2026But the new cameras that have been coming out aren't worth their price tags (except maybe the Lomo MC-A, and that's a big maybe). This goes for even the Kodak-branded plastic toys—I can get a Nikomat FTN plus a f/1.4 50mm prime lens for not much more here in Taiwan, and they're much more capable. 110
