I could not even fathom how different might be versions 1.0.0 and 1.0.2 of the same software

Peer review feels totally different if you're not interested where or even whether you paper gets published. You just indirectly force a couple of people to read and discuss your work.

Got this from @scipost.bsky.social editorial. Too bad I made quite a bit of changes.

Heh, started to receive invitations to review PRL submissions only after I decided to leave academia.

My first single-author paper! I prove spectral convergence of finite-dimensional approximations of HEOM provided a proper truncation scheme is used. arxiv.org/abs/2604.22568

On truncations of hierarchical equations of motion for finite-dimensional systems
We study truncations of hierarchical equations of motion (HEOM) for finite-dimensional open quantum systems. We prove that for finite-dimensional approximations constructed with a Schur-complement typ...

Time to brag! Last autumn we published a theoretical paper on design of a microwave quantum heat engine. And here comes the experiment arxiv.org/abs/2603.15355

Autonomous quantum heat engine
Quantum heat engines provide attractive means in quantum thermodynamics for studying the fundamentals of the flow of heat and work. Previous experimental implementations of heat engines operating at t...

Presented a poster on the quoted work. The session was quite intense, a lot of people expressed their interest. The best was the question "This has all been done in classical work by Schön, what's new here?" #LT30Bilbao

Finally, got accepted in PRResearch without any additional review. During the long fight for PRX the paper changed a lot from it's original submission version, hopefully to the best.

BREAKING: President Trump has signed a new Executive Order allowing US scientists to keep their research funding if in all future publications they switch from Greek to Cyrillic alphabet. This new policy aims to make US research better accessible to its current strategic partners.
A theorem in quantum information with all Greek letters replaced by Cyrillic letters.

Ooph, that was a long trip. First a conference in Obergurgl, then a visit to collaborators at the University of Ulm, a seminar talk at the University of Augsburg and finally a seminar talk and a workshop at Paris-Saclay university. A photo of frogs doing quantum jumps for attention!

Such a pity it's not a quantum result. So let's make a quantum sofa problem and solve it! First, I've formulated the problem this way: prepare a wave package which reflects back from the corner as little as possible. 🧵

Got sick of writing a grant application... So I started solving one of the planned tasks. What's the worst, I think I've solved it.
