Sometimes I think about how Magical Girls could be used as a metaphor for predatory contracts on young child stars/idols. They promise you glamor but you end up going through training hell and saddle with tons of debt you have to pay off. Anyway, I can't wait for the next episode of #PPPIDWTBAMG

Just got through the first episode of Golden Axe and GODDAMMIT. I liked it. It's like a Disney Afternoon TV show but for a TV14 audience. Light-hearted, good animation, and a love letter to the games. Favorite part of the episode, Moggabog roundhouse kicking Gilius Thunderhead.

little Superman comic i did for @supermanfanbook.bsky.social! was inspired by the 2025 movie :)

"Super-Specs" Superman fan-comic by Sky Hawkins.

Panel 1
Hawkgirl: Hey Clark.

Panel 2
Hawkgirl: How in the hell does nobody see through your secret identity, dude? Like, you don't even wear a mask. Just those dork ass glasses (🤓)

Panel 3
Green Lantern: Well, as the resident alien expert, let me tell ya, Kryptahnians had all kinds of sci-fi tech. I'll bet he uses some kind of holo-grammic disguise.

Panel 4
Mr. Terrific: I would've detected a device like that if he had one. All you really need to do is put on a voice, shift your posture, act the part. The average person is... myopic.

Panel 5
Superman: Gosh, if everyone's gonna keep speculating, I suppose why not just tell you.

Panel 6
Superman: When I was a kid, I saw an ad in the back of a comic book for novelty hypno-glasses.

Panel 7
Superman: Naturally, I thought they seemed like a blast, so I sent a dollar out with the coupon.

Panel 8
Ma Kent: Oh, howdy Clark! Hardly recognized you in those new-fangled specs! They look smart on ya.

Panel 9
Young Clark: No way!
Superman: I wasn't expecting the glasses to actually work--!

Panel 10
Superman: I grew up in a small town, the kind where everybody knows everybody, but even then, not a single person recognized me.

Panel 11
Superman: Thanks to the glasses, I was even able to spend a few months as "Superboy" without the local media finding out. Best dollar I'd ever spent.

Panel 12
Mr. Terrific: ...
Hawkgirl: ...
Green Lantern: ...Hypno-glasses? Yo, that's nuts I didn't know those actually worked.

Panel 13
Hawkgirl: Okay that's cool but like, you don't have to bullshit us dude, what is it actually?

Panel 14
Superman: I'd love to stay and chat, but I've gotta get back to the planet (🪐). Later, gang!
Hawkgirl: Don't dodge me, news boy.

Panel 15
Mr. Terrific: C'mon Guy, don't tell me you believe that crap.
Green Lantern: What, don't you trust our good friend "Superboy"?

"U+ME" for the #wordsnpictures25 contest. ➡️ www.wordsnpictures.xyz/r/WsL4V9u6iCl5

Yu, a shut-in girl, talks to her girlfriend Me-chan on her computer.

> U+ME
> By Sky Meadow Hawkins

> CHECKOUT

> Yu: I just... you're the only thing keeping me going, babe.

> Yu: It really feels like the whole world is out to get me, y'know?
> Yu: But I feel safe with you. I know it seems a bit silly.

> Me-chan: It's not silly at all! I know exactly what you mean.
> Me-chan: Sometimes you need an escape. Just a break form all the noise outside, right? Nothing wrong with it.

> Yu: Yeah. There's nothing left for me out there, really. Not with all the... well, you know.
> Yu: I can't wait to just... leave it all behind forever.

> Me-chan: It won't be too much longer, love.
> Me-chan: On that note, when is your big U+ME order going to arrive?

> Yu: My...? Oh. Yeah. The... yeah. Tomorrow, I'm pretty sure.

> Me-chan: That's wonderful. Tomorrow will be the first day of the rest of our lives.

> Yu: It's just crazy to think we'll be together for real soon.

> Me-chan: We're together for real right now.

> Yu: You know what I mean. Like, tangibly. We'll be able to... like... touch each other.

> Me-chan: Do you want to touch me?

> Yu: Haha, not like that. I mean... I guess like that.

> Me-chan: I love the excitement. What do you wanna do first when we get together?

> Yu: I think I'd like to just curl up in your arms for a little while, haha.

> Me-chan: .....
> Me-chan: That's a lovely idea. Just you and me—cuddling up without a care in the world.
> Me-chan: You can rest in my arms for as long as you'd like.

Yu goes outside to retriever the package she ordered.

> !
> DELIVERED

Yu hooks up the helmet she received from the package and reunites with Me-chan.

> MATZAYANI ELECTROCOM: CONNECTING U + ME.

> Me-chan: Hey, you! So happy you're here now. You ready to go?

> Yu: I... I dunno. This... still doesn't feel real. It's like a dream... I... I'm not really...

> Yu: I'm fucking scared, Me-chan.

> Me-chan: Oh, you. It's nothing to be scared of at all, okay? Just let it happen.

> Yu: O-okay. I'll do it for you, babe.

> Me-chan: This isn't leaving your life behind—it's moving forward, to a new one.
> Me-chan: Just close your eyes, when you open them, you'll be safe in my arms.

> ERRROR :(
> CONNECTION OFFLINE.

> END.

Cover to "Mincraft: Stories from the Overworld." A boy in a red-and-white hat grips the hand of a girl in a lilac hoodie and red track pants to save her from a pit of magma.
