Presented my poster "Product Storability and Exchange Rate Pass-Through" at the 2026 JIE Summer School in Milan, 3 great days on geoeconomics, trade & climate change. Thanks to Bocconi University and @jintlecon.bsky.social for curating a rich space for stimulating discussions!

I organised a game today, 'Everyday choices', at Oulu's Villa Victor to introduce everyone there to how the economy works. We rewinded to the barter times when we exchanged a good for another one. As a bonus, I also added preference ranking for the endowed goods!

Three things I ask myself before writing my code: 1. What is my destination? 2. Which routes can I take to get there? 3. Which route will be the most efficient?

Looks like the people in 1964 were interested in Economics for 'the trends in business, labor, and taxes'. Stumbled upon this ad while reading the 1964 article on Lindy's law.

People don’t remember statistics. They remember stories. And that matters—because the stories that stick are likely to shape the decisions of firms and consumers. An interesting article @qjeharvard.bsky.social! #economics

How does a stronger Canadian dollar affect importers? A new JIE (@jintlecon.bsky.social‬) paper by Michael B. Devereux, Wei Dong, Ben Tomlin shows that the importers increase their trade partners and their traded products. #economics #trade #imports
