Sad to hear of the death of Martin Parr. I attended a workshop he led on the Isle of Wight in 2008. It was a delightful tour of his take on England, full of joy and whimsy. He and Susie were such lovely people to spend time with. I remember him fondly and am proud of the images I made that weekend.

A beautiful morning on @ucddublin.bsky.social Belfield campus. The upper lake is teaming, a heron, a coot, lots of mallards and what seems to be our new swan. He(?) started visiting before Christmas and now seems to be in permanent residence. I've a tough job but someone has to do it!

No surprise that Cork St is bad, D8 is the least green area in the city, lacking trees, parks and recreation spaces. In fairness DCC are working on a greening strategy for the area but more needed. Newmarket Sq in particular should be ‘greened’

More from the vaults 2017-2023, swans and cygnets always make for good photo opportunities. Since I started in UCD, a breeding pair of swans have nested on the island in the lake. That was up until a few years ago when the cob died, of natural causes I’m told. The dowager pen swins on.
