Saw this at Tesco Leith. Glad their defibrillator is free though I'm not sure how they'd ever be able to go about charging for it. Rifle through the guys pockets for a credit card and clubcard while doing CPR?

Anyway, back wasn't broken. We had a great time and spent 7 hours in the park on Sunday riding the small and big coasters. Not too busy so short queues. Could do with a lick of paint in places but clean. We'd go back but looking at other options. Thorpe Park? Alton Towers?

I'm all for allowing folk to do dangerous things with informed choice. Blackpool's The Big One should say "uneven track. Jolts your spine. Use at own risk". It's a broken and dangerous thing and should be closed until warning put up or it is fixed.

VoxBox Music @voxboxmusic.bsky.social · 19/05/2025

Ok, rode on The Big One at Blackpool Pleasure Beach on Sunday. It's a scary height and descent. But fk me it will paralyse someone. Rough on the turns and felt bashed about. Fair enough. But there were a few times the seat whacked upwards with force and had me worried about my spine.

VoxBox Music @voxboxmusic.bsky.social · 17/05/2025

I'm in Blackpool for rollercoastering with my 7 year old. Seen here contemplating the Big One after arriving at the hotel today. He wants to go upside down. Ooft. Tomorrow we ride.

Watching Andor. On to episode 6 and may be a bit dim but still nae sure what's going on. And a bit bored. Feels low budget like Doctor Who despite the visuals. #andor

The cantina band from Star Wars seems even weirder now we know from Andor that the bar could’ve just been playing normal techno

The SMIA is really important but struggles with visibility outside of those involved in Scottish music. I may well apply for this. I'm sure they don't need another old white man but I think I've a few insights and many plans. Any glaring issues needing addressed? www.smia.org.uk/apply-to-joi...

Many years ago a man came in looking for a song. He was already pissed after attending the pub after attending his mother's funeral. I didn't have the song. But we found it online and we played it again and again. It was a song that Roberta Flack had made her own.

For Record Store Day this year we will have 12 artists -from brand new to very experienced. All incredible. We're at St Vincent's Chapel. Shop will open at 8am. Live music from 11-1730. Possibly more music after we get our supper. More deets by the end of the week. #rsduk #rsd2025

Some interesting singles. Some only for the song label or the track name.

Almost all my free time in recent months has been spent researching a collection of 5000 US funk and soul records. It's been both tedious and joyful. This box took 5 hours to price up over last weekend. But phew... it's now done!

VoxBox Music @voxboxmusic.bsky.social · 30/12/2024

Shop news... Still on X. Partly to see what Space Elton is up to. But will now always post here first. I'll try one of the apps that help you find folk on here that were on X. Interested in independent music and helping Scottish music find a wider audience. And Iggy Pop of course.

The thing about the early Beatles records is that they were so well made that they will tolerate really bad scuffs and scratches really well. This wide scratch is inaudible. #thebeatles
