am I the only one that finds the NY Times reporting on software breaking software as "science-fiction" kinda odd? www.nytimes.com/2026/07/21/t...
The incident, which happened last week while OpenAI was testing the cybersecurity capabilities of its systems, displayed the kind of science-fiction potential that A.I. companies warned would soon become a reality.

Can Pauline Hanson be stopped?
Pauline Hanson’s populist and mostly false declarations have changed little in 30 years. They are her personal grievances writ large for an audience hungry to attribute their own grievances to particular races and religions.

Liz Soto and Savanna Batten are 2 of those sentenced to 50 years in prison for Prairieland. I visited them in a north Texas jail—11 months into their incarceration over a July 4 noise demo—to meet the Trump admin’s “Antifa terrorists”. from behind glass, Soto said, “They didn’t like my book club.”

there's a fun flywheel effect happening here with 'good faith' political criticism (opinion) from the media which only serves to repeat the de facto opposition leader's name over and over and over. Presumably they think they're helping by adding to the discourse, but it's got an amplifying effect

a uni prof once told me "Australia didn't get the 60s until the 70s" and with that I'd like to welcome you all to 2016! we've got: - an orange-haired 'populist disruptor' - a weakened, desperate media credulously amplifying memetic power - major parties institutionally unable to deal with it

there is no 'AI-less' resistance within the matrix because the same 'AI' you object to is necessary to enforce the rules. Denying the totality of 'AI' in a digital environment while affirming 'humanity' means to enclose the human within the machine
