DAWN PORTAL (2006)
 Acrylic on Panel - 20" x 24"

The woman in this Portals painting is seeking wisdom and meaning beyond the knowledge she can gain from cultural influences, here represented by the statues. 1/2 #art

$Bathed in the light of dawn, a woman kneels on the sand before a pointed archway of a ruined abbey. Her red hair is braided tightly behind her. The tail of her plain white gown trails down to the water's edge. A transparent sphere containing a solitary flame floats overhead approaching the archway. To her left, a hooded statue holding a book lays on its side in the wet sand just before the abbey wall. In the stone wreckage to her right, a fractured column juts upward with a pair of statues still stands with a man and woman each holding a book.$
