When cops and agents attack crowds without provocation, they make shit up to justify their attacks (in his case, an attack waged on a cooperative crowd to produce fascist social media content). Trump and Musk are spreading disinformation about CA for several reasons. First, they need their tribe to think the worst of both CA politicians AND those affected. So they invent stories to make it their fault. Second, they need govt to be incompetent to drive the dissatisfaction they feed off.
