iiinova — where your digital self keeps evolving

@basisvr.org just finished their load test and reached over 1600 concurrent users in one instance. Thanks to their Direct Connection feature, I was able to enjoy every moment of it with my friends without suffering voice or IK degradation like what happened in previous load tests. #BasisLoadTest

I walked in on something in the #furality hub...

6 furality ultra rats surrounding a 3 foot tall sandwich as if it were some kind of ritual.

Going through a bunch of the Ink Overflow experiences we've made over the years before they're gone forever. I'm consistently impressed with what we were able to do; I'm glad we were able to grow so much on #RecRoom. It's time to show off our skills on #VRChat and #Resonite !

an expansive castle with hovering arenas where swords stand awaiting people to dual. The castle has a color scheme of teals and reds and the arenas hover over bottomless pits. There are ornate archways on either side.

An underwater scene with lots of sea creatures and flora. A large whale shark can be seen in the upper left. Two jelly fish linger center frame. There is a rocky arch covered in colorful plants to the left. In the middle there is a platform with a piano on it and several people. A keyboard display hovers above the platform. Red lights are shining in all directions from the platform as well in an ornate pattern.

Taken from the perspective of an audience member at the front row of a large auditorium. The stage is covered in candles, all lit, and stacked up a terrace to the peak where a white piano stands. Beside it is a Rec Room Player dressed in an angel outfit. The whole scene is very orange with the lighting and at the top there is the text "Haven" written in cursive orange.

A large castle stands with waterfalls flowing out of each wing of the castle. There is a small village down in front of the castle.

@basisvr.org hit over 1050 users during the load test today \o/ Congrats and huge praise to all the work that team is doing to make VR art resilient to platform shutdowns and give power and agency back to artists. Also, so happy to see geckos in this picture ^.^

A large group of 250 VR avatars all grouped together in a pool for a group photo. There are avatars of all kinds.

Rec Room really was something special. We're losing a piece of culture with its shutdown in June.

I had a smol spider come up on my desk and drink some water that dripped off my glass. CW: spider, of course.

I created a non-destructive ref sheet for my avatar using linked assets, library overrides, and the VSE scene strips. My avatar is linked in from the source-of-truth blend file and any tweaks are reflected in the ref sheet automatically- just need to re-render! #blender3d #blender #avatar

It feels like we're rocketing toward a bifurcated world where these massive corporations play around in their own economic sandbox and the rest of us carry on and thrive despite them in our own economy. I think the next decade we'll see a resurgence in comparatively small but sustainable businesses.

It's likely more useful to determine the percent of asset ripper concerned individuals are really wanting access control. You've already taken measures and done work to satisfy the people on your platform that are concerned about asset ripping meaning that group is big enough to justify action ...

In the Overte post I included some user stories that address the idea that it's isolating to have access controls for one's avatar. I also know through experience that it's really hard to convince devs that access control applied to avatars is valuable and good and...

What are your fundamentals? How does one find their fundamentals? I ask because I carry this fortune cookie paper around with me and I'm trying to figure out how to execute on it.

I saw this meme on twitter from a content farm account so I feel a little dirty reposting it here, however, it resonates with me. I think it's a neat exercise to view the problems in your life as if they were common problems in your favorite digital art creation tool.

I don't know how you calculated 5% I thought there was a flat fee that stripe took that, for small transactions like what you're collecting, will account for even more than 5%. For example, we have a $2 tier on kofi where stripe takes 0.36 cents which works out to 18%. Most of that is a flat fee.

Interesting thought about culture, art, and humanity. An artist can make culture wider or taller. The process of creation can expand the boundaries of culture with innovation and/or contribute to the depth of the art we have available. I think this is an interesting lens to view culture's growth.

The boundaries of our collective culture grow with new innovations in expression and storytelling, while the height of the culture grows with the production of art using the tools discovered by those before us.
