Voidonon @voidonon.bsky.social · 28/08/2026Sadly, many people will react to atrocities depending on who does them to who, insted of depending on what was done. It just makes their condemnations, even the legitimate ones, feel more like "us vs them" cheerleading and virtue signaling than like a genuine concern for the victims. 110
Voidonon @voidonon.bsky.social · 27/08/2026I have a strict "no app" policy. If something is not available without a smartphone app, I will simply ignore it. 000
Voidonon @voidonon.bsky.social · 27/08/2026And yet, many people still agree to suffer the horrible thing on the right for no reason other than inertia and "it is what everyone does". 061

Voidonon @voidonon.bsky.social · 20/04/2026Imagine if instead of spending billions of dollars supporting wars or weapons, USA had spent that money helping the people of USA. They would have a much different country. 010
Voidonon @voidonon.bsky.social · 15/04/2026It looks more like a condesceding "We know what you want better than you know it (and what you want is what we want you to want)." than something genuinely helpful. 100
Voidonon @voidonon.bsky.social · 27/03/2026If it is a work email, then its mail server is one of their servers, which technically makes hacking it a kind of hacking them. 100

Voidonon @voidonon.bsky.social · 04/03/2026Regarding the last point, it would be really interesting if he were to be proven wrong by unexpectedly running out of something important. 000
Voidonon @voidonon.bsky.social · 28/02/2026One axis supposedly suffers, another aims to benefit, while civilians suffer. That does not sound like a net positive unless one cheers for one axis, or only against one while turning a blind eye to the bloodthirst of the other one. 010

Voidonon @voidonon.bsky.social · 19/02/2026Tl;dr on incentives: USA: Believes they can easily win by militarily overwhelming Iran. Iran: Believes it would be too costly for USA, preventing its further aggression in the long term. 011

Voidonon @voidonon.bsky.social · 30/10/2025Grokipedia is just a technobro version of Conservapedia. And it will likely be similarly irrelevant. 120
Voidonon @voidonon.bsky.social · 26/10/2025All true. If set S is empty, statements (like A and B) of the type ∀x∈S: p(x) are trivially true, just like ones (C and D) of the type ∄x∈S: p(x). Here p(x) can be "x is wearing a hat" (in A and C) or "x is not wearing a hat" (in B and D). IDK why is this so hard for some (or most?) people. 000
Voidonon @voidonon.bsky.social · 09/10/2025Legitimate issues can also happen (just like on any OS) and they will probably be overrepresented because more people will write a post seeking help than saying everything works fine. Also, it is worth checking timestamps - some issues could had been present many years ago, but are now resolved. :) 000
Voidonon @voidonon.bsky.social · 09/10/2025There are people who are against Linux for whatever reasons and Linux users who want to be elitists for it. They have mostly opposed views, but also one thing in common - preventing new Linux users. These two groups are sadly often the loudest and create powerful popular misconceptions about Linux. 100

Voidonon @voidonon.bsky.social · 08/10/2025Regarding the steepness of the learning curve. It is really not that bad as people imagine. 110
Voidonon @voidonon.bsky.social · 08/10/2025It might had been that way a long time ago, but nowadays it is merely a popular misconception. 100

Voidonon @voidonon.bsky.social · 30/09/2025Discover feed seems to show a lot of stuff unrelated to one's activity, just for that stuff being popular. This is why it shows e.g. a lot of USA politics and conflicts that the media care about the most, even if one has otherwise zero interactions in anything politics/war-related. 000

Voidonon @voidonon.bsky.social · 24/09/2025Looks like kerning of that font could had used some work. Is it known was it a technical limitation of the font format back then, or was it simply considered "good enough" since nothing better existed yet? 000
