This really spoke to me
The trick is maintaining a sense of alarm that doesn't tip over into despair (and at the opposite end, not falling into complacency "it will all work out" or "that's someone else's job to make it work out). We are in the middle of the story and we write it with how we show up, how we build solidarity, how we support those in the front lines, how we stand on principle, how we don't let them erase those principles of truth, fact, law, science, and human rights.

Meant to mention this last week, but if you have a young person in your life who’s into history or graphic novels or just good books, buy them George Takei’s “They Called Us Enemy.” My oldest couldn’t put it down.

Data is mounting that the shingles vaccine is protective against dementia. It's not definitive, but it's interesting. In addition, the effect is more pronounced for women. vajenda.substack.com/p/is-the-shi...

Today I learned there is potential for life changing therapies from menstrual blood stem cells, (MenSCs). Similar to bone marrow stem cells but rapidly reproducing. Wow. Embarrassing, hidden, dirty, old period blood. pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC...

I keep reading versions of this thought from people I respect: It’s personal, political, engagement we need to advance; to move from socials to literal conversations is the combat zone. Ethical outrage without power isn’t enough.

It’s all here. News & conversations without hateful replies feels like a relief. I’m mostly reminded of how cool Twitter used to be & how much I would learn on the platform. Sharing this thread filled with interesting articles I’m going to read.
