Love Fortune's Weave thus far but don't love how recruiting works in it. I get that they're aiming for freedom and giving players options but I kind of wish they had just had characters who are meant to join each specific flame lord instead of this awkward all-you-can-eat buffet approach

I think I'm usually pretty good at appreciating things for what they are without getting too hung up on, like, Missed Potential. but if there is any exception to that it is GQuuuX. If I think too long about all the different things GQuuuX could have been I start to want to chew on things

I'm doing Leda's path first in Fortune's Weave and it's so damn funny to me. Leda's got this whole found family forming around her and she is just entirely uninterested in participating in the found family. she just wants to kill people.

Sayolara spoilers-- Grace is truly the character of all time Said fuck society, transitioned, killed a man, became ungodly hot, told her niece to transition too, killed her brother in law, became a goldfish (still hot), became the animal sidekick of a sports romcom, and then died saying gay rights

A thing I think about a lot when people freak out about pacing a la "there are only 3 episodes left, how is this story going to wrap up in that time?!" is like Madoka Magica is 12 episodes long and Homura's backstory, which is the backbone of the entire plot, does not get shown until episode 10

One of the biggest cruelties in my life is that I am a person who loves things that are dreamy and surreal and odd.... and yet I barely ever dream. When I do dream, it's always incredibly boring shit like being at work or grocery shopping It's not fair!!!

I remember feeling a little sad when Unicorn Overlord came out because I wanted Vanillaware to do another 13 Sentinels and UO is very much not that hindsight has me honestly really glad they didn't try to do 13S again. It was lightning in a bottle and any attempt to repeat it would likely fail

I was moving into a new apartment with some friends but I moved in like a week before they did. Love Me Love Me Love Me by Kikuo appeared on a tumblr audio post on my dash at like 2am on like the second night of that weird, surreal week spent alone in a completely empty four bedroom apartment

The last two novels I've read - The Works of Vermin and The Starving Saints- have both managed to make me froth at the mouth and pace around like a restless animal. I hope this roll keeps on and the next thing I read makes me crawl up the ceiling like a spider

I avoid gacha games now, not because of the gambling aspect but because I am extremely prone to Ice Cube Logic I have over 1000 hours spent in Genshin Impact. Probably 3-400 of those hours were spent making ice cubes. tbh I miss it but I can't let myself transform into Ice Cube Creature again

I'm like 18 hours into Mina the Hollower and somehow still can't pinpoint my opinion of it. It's definitely mostly positive- the game is objectively very good and I have enjoyed a lot of it, but for some reason I feel like I never QUITE hit a flow-state with its gameplay

Donkey Kong Bananza is such a funny game man. it's like they looked at Super Mario Odyssey and went "okay this game's general game design is great, but we could do without the whole 'creatively maneuvering the environment' bit. You should be able to just break stuff to get everything instead"

it is my firm belief that, despite being from very different genres, games like Pokopia and Minecraft appeal to people for the exact same reasons games like FF Tactics and Disgaea do: The raw aesthetic magnetism of The Grid. we long for Cubes.

I wonder if anything can be psychoanalyzed from the fact that I can enjoy the weirdest, noisiest, most annoying sounds under the sun when they're made by instruments but am incredibly picky about human vocals and can't stand a lot of singers' voices
