Visably isn't about tech. It's about lives with sight loss made wider, brighter and fuller every day. The weather forecast over breakfast. A reminder to take medication. A favourite radio programme. Calling the grandchildren. The confidence to say, “I can.” That’s what your support sounds like.
Doreen, an older lady with bobbed grey hair, smiles happily next to her smart speaker from Visably. Text reads: "Small moments. Big difference."

It's #WorldSightDay and sight loss is on the up. 👆 In fact, experts say it's set to double by 2050. While research into better eye health continues, life with sight loss remains a reality for millions up and down the UK. [1/3]

Catherine loves the simple things. A good book. Listening to music or the radio. And, whenever she can, spending time with her grandchildren. So, when she updated her Will, Catherine's thoughts turned to the kind of future she wanted to create. That's when Visably came to mind...
Catherine smiles warmly alongside a quote in her words, which reads: "It's important to me to do what I can to make the world a happier, fairer place."

What Mary’s daughter told us when she got in touch to share the difference our support has made to her 93-year-old mum who lives with sight loss. We're here to help people with sight loss discover what tech can make possible, with the support and confidence to make it work for them.
Quote from Mary’s daughter about the support her 93-year-old mum received from Visably: “Thank you so much for what you have provided for my mother. It really is the way forward.”

The nights might be drawing in, but life doesn’t have to. 🍂 Tech can open up everyday possibilities for people living with sight loss - whether that’s listening to a favourite book, keeping in touch with family, finding information or doing something independently.

Nearly 100 years ago, as the British Wireless for the Blind Fund (BWBF), we provided free wireless sets to blind people across the UK. Today, the technology may look different, but our purpose at Visably continues: helping people with sight loss stay connected to the world around them.
