I haven't drawn in so long... Ya'll. I just wanna be free of this dayjob already but I've got two weeks. And then I wanna get the last commissions I've got finished and then RELAX.

Three things I do not like in music: 1) sirens 2) children laughing 3) some random talking that has no place in the song and comes out of nowhere

This aired just the once in 1998 on the live SNL show for which McKay wrote it. It was effectively banned as it never aired again. I wonder why. MEDIA-OPOLY

October 18th, I'll be quitting my current day job. On October 28th, I'll be leaving the United States. I have so much to look forward to, a trail to set a'blazin as I move forward. I am so thankful my life has sometime who loves me so deeply, so fully~ The future is warm and bright.

I could've never imagined working with such a spectacular & skilled crew, making something so gruesome & beautiful, which is what I love from the horror genre. So proud of our team & cast. And to those waiting, hope you enjoy, or at the very least, hope it makes you flinch. #knightsofguinevere

I'm already struggling to stream consistently as is! I'm constantly battling depression and anxiety! Imagine if I increased my hours at an already soul draining day job...

Violet Spectrum @violetspectrum.bsky.social · 11/09/2026

Man... I'm glad I've gotten my visa approved when I have because I don't think I'd survive the miniscule paychecks coming my way now that summer is over. Living in a tourist town bites... And I don't think I'd have the capacity to increase my hours.

It's only now just occurred to me that since OOT is getting that remake, this fucker is gonna be getting a face lift...

Violet Spectrum @violetspectrum.bsky.social · 09/09/2026

At least I'm the Zelda remake, there is character acting. The kid at the shop jumps up and down with so much gusto and his face contorts in funny expressions... even though I'm made uncomfortable by every character having juicy cherubesque lips.

000

Violet Spectrum @violetspectrum.bsky.social · 09/09/2026

Star Fox didn't work for me not because of the look itself but because the animation has no character because there is little character acting.

100

Violet Spectrum @violetspectrum.bsky.social · 09/09/2026

All that being said, I do think I'm actually really excited for this regardless. As far as more realism remakes go, this is one of the better ones. It's at least not exclusive, from what I can see, than the Star Fox one. (Star Fox would have been fine if they weren't animated so stiff...)

100

Violet Spectrum @violetspectrum.bsky.social · 09/09/2026

A common thing I see with HD remasters, especially fan-made uNrEaL eNgiNe 4K remakes is that they dull down the colors too much and add too much bloom and fog. I see that in here in some regards, but there's also more intent behind how the environment is lit. But why the juicy cherub lips?!

100

Violet Spectrum @violetspectrum.bsky.social · 09/09/2026

I like they are TRYING to utilize textures to bring presence to the hand made, have created, have carved vibes, but also... It's too many degrees too much for me in some areas and not others. Also, the juicy cherub lips really ick me.

100

Violet Spectrum @violetspectrum.bsky.social · 09/09/2026

So... I don't think the Zelda remake is TERRIBLE, but I do think there are aspects that are overdone--and not in the sense that they are going for a Rococo/Romanticism vibe, either. They really were faithful to a lot of the original designs, but why are their lips so juicy and cheruby????

110

Violet Spectrum @violetspectrum.bsky.social · 06/09/2026

Making progress on those commissions, still! I feel like I could add something to the filigree on the bottom, but I'll poke at it another time!

Caine from Digital Circus is LITERALLY SO FUN TO DRAW! The expressions you can get out of eyes in teeth is so mind-boggling to me. What a cool design~ I've got a Zooble in here, too, as well as more Bronte cats and a tiny still life study.
