MEDICAL HACK:
So, your doctor ordered a test or treatment and your insurance company denied it. That is a typical cost saving method.
OK, here is what you do:
1. Call the insurance company and tell them you want to speak with the "HIPAA Compliance/Privacy Officer" (By federal law, they have to have one)
2. The ask them for the NAMES as well as CREDENTIALS of every person assessing your record to make that decision of denial. By law you have a right to that information.
3. They will almost always reverse the decision very shortly rather than admit that the committee is made of low paid HS graduates, looking at "criteria wods," making the medical decision to deny your care. Even in the rare case it is made by medical personnel, it is unlikely that it is made by a board certified doctor in that specialty and they DO NOT WANT YOU TO KNOW THIS!
4. Any refusal should be reported to the US Office of Civil Rights OCR.gov) as a HIPAA violation.

Really lucky that today wasn't worse. We had a small incident where we ended up flooding the bathroom and a space heater was taken out by the flood. Thankfully no one was electrocuted and there was nothing but the heater destroyed. Thank heavens for friends who don't want to see you freeze. #poverty

Definitely agree with you: the unity from the conversations happening are making me tear up. Murder is murder, yes. Is it ever justified? I don't really know anymore. I do know we can turn terrible situations into beauty and that's what I'm trying to do with this and where my focus is atm.

My comment of "better ways" was not about the implementation of a system. It was the implementation of approaching things with a more wholistic and humanistic view. Instead of immediately tearing someone's post apart by commenting on whether they are liberal or conservative: how about we listen?

No one is static. At any given time I agree with some conservative approaches and some liberal. That doesn't mean I'm one or the other, and not none. Both can be true. To be liberal is to accept new ideas. To be conservative is to be cautious in their implementation.

Where do you begin to define evil? If someone denied chemotherapy to a 7 year old child who suffered and died as a result, is that not evil? Perhaps evil can be many things. Perhaps it's not so easy to define. We cannot change what has happened, but we can let it illuminate a new path forwards.

Let me be clear: I do not condone murder. But, I also think karma happens to people who do murder innocent people. This is a class war: one in which rich folks have been waging against us for awhile.
