Griso and I had a great time at our first book show! Sold a bunch of books, saw a lot of awesome Flinns and friends, met some cool new people! Taking a moment to relax, then it's back to work on Forgotten Maritimes Book II and my graphic novel! Worlds to build! Thanks for the support, everyone!

The weed delivery guy showed up at exactly 4:20, then my stepson showed up with a gigantic box of Mary Brown's taters which we ate while watching videos of people falling off ladders. A most excellent day.

The other thing I've put more hours into writing in than anything else is my DnD campaign, which extends all the way back to 1992 or so. Much like the crew of the Elizabeth, it's always been about chosen family. And of course, there's a Griso, forever my multiverse anchor! #booksky #dnd

In The Battle of Eastern Passage chapter, I had to plan the invasion and how to defend against it, which was very fun! Similarly, in chapters where the characters travel around Halifax (or are chased), the reader can track every street and see how the broken future compares to present day. #booksky

A handy part about being a Gemini is when you're down and out there's a whole other second you that's ready to drag you both through it. And if you're lucky enough to be GenX, that other guy is pretty much just Tyler Durden.

Years ago, I drew out a general layout for the ship, which is meant to be a converted luxury yacht, not unlike the 125 footer pictured below. While a real ship's floorplan is infinitely more nuanced and complex, this gives a good idea of where everything is. #booksky #novascotia

A lot of my inspiration comes from places like South Haven. The ship in Return of the Blackjack is a character unto itself, discovered in a real place called Black Cove right across the harbour from my sister's place. St Ann's Bay will always have an important place in my heart and history.
