🔬 Postdoctoral Position – Devonian Faunal Evolution of Svalbard (Norway) pre-anouncement I will soon open a #postdoctoral position to work with me at the Museum national d'Histoire naturelle in Paris...

An updated phylogeny of bats is presented, based on new genome assemblies and many ancient fossils and including all known bat families.

How genes determine the development of chiral structures is a fascinating question. The reciprocal placement of female and male organs on opposite sides of mirror-image flowers promotes efficient cros...

Lancho-Silva et al. reveal two successive contacts between butterfly populations that capture the surprisingly rapid emergence of reproductive isolation driven by selection for chemical differences, a...

Une nouvelle évaluation scientifique estime qu'il pourrait exister 20 millions d'espèces d'insectes sur Terre. Un chiffre aussi énorme qu'inédit, qui devrait inciter à redoubler les efforts d'étude et...

Abstract. Phenotypic evolution is shaped by phylogenetic history, ecology and biomechanical constraints. Butterfly wings offer an ideal system to explore t

Leaf shape plasticity expression is variable in Mimulus laciniatus.

Supple et al. investigate the spectral sensitivity of motion-sensitive descending neurons (DNs) connecting the brain to thoracic motor centers in butterflies. Optic flow-sensitive DNs are spectrally b...

Color and scent are well-known pollinator cues. Some plants also produce heat, but its role remains unclear. Here, we report that plant-generated thermal infrared radiation serves as a pollination sig...

Abstract. Although climatic variability has been proposed to shape physiological tolerances, and in turn, species distributions, relatively few studies hav

L’iridescence est un phénomène optique dans lequel la couleur d’un objet dépend de l’angle d’observation et d’éclairage de celui-ci. En fonction de l’interaction de la lumière avec les structures à la...

Abstract. Flapping wings are the primary means by which dragonflies generate forces, but they are susceptible to damage due to their inherent fragility. Th

Abstract. The allopatric model of speciation has dominated our understanding of speciation biology and biogeography since the Modern Synthesis. It is uncon

Here authors find a latitudinal migratory divide in a butterfly across Earth’s hemispheres, highlighting how hemisphere-specific seasonality and navigational cues shape migratory strategies. They find...

Side-blotched lizards (Uta stansburiana) play a biological rock-paper-scissors game in which three differently colored male morphs utilize alternative mating strategies. We identified the genetic basi...
