happy/ambivalent trans day of visibility, please support the trans people in your life 🏳️‍⚧️❤️

i’ve always had mixed feelings about trans day of visibility. both in my own life and in the world, it feels like there’s been just as much progress as there has been turmoil. but i’ll always be grateful for the privilege and honor of being brown, trans, and visible

i first came out over 10 years ago and often feel like i still have so much more to go, so much i still need to do. but i also tend to forget to look back and see how far i’ve come. it’s hard to say i’m proud of myself, but i acknowledge the hurdles, and strength it took to overcome, to get to where i am

i am so grateful to everyone who has ever supported me, and the lineage of trans people who paved the path for me to be who i am today. i would not be alive if it weren’t for you ❤️

(also consider checking out my youtube and twitch channels if you wanna support a trans creator!🏳️‍⚧️)

four photos of me in a collage

top left is a 10 year old selfie of my face where i look younger after i first came out

top right is a current selfie of my face, my hair is longer and my face is fuller

bottom left is a 10 year old mirror selfie of me where i look younger after i first came out, wearing a purple dress shirt and a vest

bottom right is a current mirror selfie of me where im wearing a tank top and my arms are out (and dare i say look damn good)

it’s a weird feeling having just submitted the paperwork for my legal name/gender change meanwhile trans people in my country are getting their IDs invalidated just because they live in a different state than me. happy and heartbroken while trying to be grateful, the quintessential trans experience

tomorrow at noon PST, we talk about Buffy, Buffering, and the Slayers book at our monthly Media of the Month Club livestream! i'm so excited, join me to discuss my favorite podcast about my favorite show made by my favorite pair of divorced lesbians! 🏳️‍🌈🧛‍♀️🏹

monthly "Media of the Month" livestream thumbnail, featuring me in the center holding the "Slayers, Every One of Us" book, on the left there's the Buffering music CDs and a photo of Jenny and Kristin in the corner, on the right the text reads "buffy made me gay??? (not clickbait)" with an image of Buffy in the right corner, a gay flag with a questionmark, and a little icon of a pink TV with the text "there is still time"-a reference to "I Saw the TV Glow"
